May I ask you for advice? How do you remove surplus of glue when sticking mosses onto the wood/stone? Some unpleasant white stains remain there and altough invitalshop advises to use razor for me it is rather impossible as the wood is placed in aquarium and brushing it with razor might move it and also some plants around it in the gravel :-/

Rather than removing it, put some liquid glue on it and sprinkle sand or rock dust on it to hide the white spots.

Hello. Great video. But I would like to ask for advice. I have just 12 litres aquarium (please don´t ask reason why so small ... :D) and I am seeking for plants which won´t grow out of water. First 5cm will be substrate and gravel layer. Then next 14-14,5 cm will be filled with water. I want to put there some roots or wood to place there some moss. But there are so many types of moss like: peacock moss, spiky moss, taiwan moss, vesicularia dubyana mini christmas, flame moss, erect moss, vesicularia creeping moss, stringy moss, java moss and christmas moss. So my main dilemma is wich one or two mosses to pick (choose) and plant. Thanks in advance for advice! ;-)

@Daniel Žák 12 liters is much better than no aquarium ;) I would go with something simple like Christmas Moss, Java Moss, Pelia Moss or Cameroon Moss... Especially Cameroon moss is very slow growing and easy to take care off so that one would be definitely great fit :) Monte carlo would also be great if you'd like to make a carpet and you will be using aquarium soil :) Guessing from your name you're from Slovakia, so if you'd tell me where exactly you live, I can send/bring you some as I am soon moving back to Slovakia and will be taking my tanks apart :)

@@undersurfacechannel Thank you so much for advice. So your advice is to start with some mosses placed on wood/branches and stones (I´ve heard that wood is better than stone ...). Well "Monte Carlo" looks very good and I´ve been browsing websites like rostlinna-akvaria.cz, tropica, etc. and "Monte Carlo" is not advised for beginners, but "Marsilea Hirsuta" has been mentioned as good one for start. Carpet is something what really interesed me, what gives lower levels of aquarium very interesting and good view, so definitely I want it in. Next plan was to plant to backgound something taller and I had chosen "Eleocharis Acicularis" which looks like tall grass. Then I had two options. One was to place "Anubias Nana Mini" on some wood/brach in one corner of aquarium while on the other side create some group of stones and wood for mosses. Second option was without anubias and use higher amount of mosses exactly like you said :-) So far I have prepared some old soil for aquarium (3-4cm thick layer) and will place 2cm thick layer of 2-4mm gravel on it. So plants will have acess to fertile soil but also gravel might help them to hold on to bottom (at least I hope it will work this way). Regarding the mosses I´ve picked these four: Spiky moss, Taiwan moss, Vesicularia dubyna mini Christmas and Flat moss (from invital web shop offer). Some mosses are reather demanding and tend to grow higher - at least some websites say so. But my confusion lays in fact that various websites state different growing parametres for same plant :-/ Well currently I reside in Žilina and you have guessed well where I am from ;-)

@Daniel Žák amazing to see you have made a proper research! :) Well, I was also a bit aware of Monte Carlo not being very suitable for beginners but I was really pleasantly surprised! Well the decision between anubias and mosses is of course thing of preference... But be aware that anubis is super slow grower and may be attracting quite a bit of Black beard algae... You've also chosen great selection of mosses and I'm sure you'll be happy with them. Haha nice, next time I'll be in Žilina you need to show me around, love nature around Žilina... I am originally from Nitra and soon will be moving back :)

@@undersurfacechannel Thanks for praising ;-) Internet offers a lot of info but a bit of confusion is being brought here when different websites post different info regarding the height or demands of each plant. Speaking about "anubias" you´re probably right. There was often mentioned that "anubias" tend to suffer from algae. But maybe some shrimps etc. could solve this problem? Dealing with mosses, there comes to my mind a question if there is a chance to pick a wrong moss? :D ... Regarding carpeting issue we spoke about "Monte Carlo (Micranthemum)" and "Marsilea Hirsuta". Another two low plants came to my mind (but are stated as "medium difficulty"), and here they are: "Eleocharis pusilla" (resembling low grass) and "Hemianthus callitrichoides" (similar to "Monte Carlo"). Both of them are said to be not for beginner, but do you have any experience with these two "carpeting dwarfs"? :) Sure, around Žilina is plenty of valleys and hills to see. No matter where you put blindly your finger on map, there is everywhere something to see and experience. Only problem is a bigger amount of bears in Malá and Veľká Fatra. Also it is worth to take a train and bus, travel 45-60 minutes from Žilina to Kysuce, Turiec, Orava or Liptov. Hard to pick any favourite place but definitely rocky hills near village Súľov are worth to see and march them entirely and for sure legendary village Terchová with Jánošíkove diery which is a "must" for everyone but it leads to overcrowded tourist paths so you have to wait while people coming the opposite way will pass the stairs and ladder attached to rocky walls in distresses and holes. It is also good to have someone to ask for advice where to go and tell him what you want and don´t want to see, how much are you willing to walk and how steep mountains can you "beat". It is recommended to go for a trip in the morning and not as I did in late March, with start at 13.00 :D ... that 16km from Vrútky via Minčol hill to Višňové ended with nearly 30 falls on paths covered by melted and iced snow with broken finger in three pieces and nearly 3/4 hour march in the dark forest leaving it at 19:00. Luckily we haven´t meet any bear altough this location is famous for their huge presence. So a bit adrenaline we had granted to ourselves as we were just two and a bit beaten by so much falls. :D As speaking of Nitra, I have been there three times but remember very little things and 1-2 times it was really short visit. Main attraction for me there was railway leading from Lužianky through Dražovce, Podhorany, Žirany, Jelenec and Sľažany do Zlaté Moravce. Unfortunately government gave higher priority to automobile bussines than protecting strategic railway built in hard times of WW II. :-(

I have a question. Can you freeze a batch of Java moss or flame moss in the freezer and later on one day place it in a warm tank, will it live? I been told that people with outdoor ponds Java had survived a frozen pond

Not sure about frozen ponds, but in freezer it will definitely die. I have not tried it, but considering what happens to fresh veggies when you freeze and unfreeze them, I don't think it is possible.
