Dion was the lead singer of a group called the Belmonts. He left the group to pursue a solo career. "The Wanderer" is a song written by Ernie Maresca and originally recorded by Dion, released on his 1961 album "Runaway Sue". Both songs are on the same 1961 album but 'Runaround Sue' precedes 'The Wanderer".

I laugh out loud watching your reaction go from careful listening to when the beat or a change up surprises you. Makes me actually giggle. And yes, I was chair dancing along with you. 🤣

Dion's music was just a lot of fun to listen too. It made you chuckle, even if the subject matter might be somewhat serious . Great singer/song writer.

Please, please, please listen to "Abraham, Martin, and John" by Dion. It's really very touching. Just a great song.

This was popular when I was in high school. I graduated in 1963. I've got this 45 and The Wanderer.too The beat is so good. All.the songs had a one, two, three, four beat that is so ear catching. I've got a book that D J Norm N Knight wrote about all the singers from the early 50's until the 70's it's a big book with lots of great singers all through the rock and roll era. It even has Perry Como in it. ( tame, yuk!)
