My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa. Paris (yes the one in France) has been my home for years now and I have every intention of staying here for as long as they'll have me. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlogged daily for 3+ years, and love pizza a little too much. The Carnavalet is one of the treasures of Paris. I mentioned visiting it to a French friend and he was quite surprised because it was generally overlooked by tourists, but, he said it was very popular with Parisians. A "don't miss" part is the reconstructed Art Nouveau era jewelry store, also a great place to get a picture of your significant other. Also it's remarkable how close you can get to some of the artwork. As usual Jay this video is right on the mark and gives me a piqûre de rappel to tide me over until my next visit.

The Carnavalet looks just stunning. I need to visit next time and have a petit café in that gorgeous courtyard! And i can attest, the 2eme library you're referring to is SPECTACULAR

If you want to sit, go to the branch of The Coffee at 2 Rue Saint-Gilles. Used to come here almost daily. Definitely recommend Qasti as well, super friendly and delicious

I’ve always loved that ‘Haut Marais’ can be incorrectly pronounced by English speakers as ‘Hot Marais’.. cause it is a hot neighborhood

Too much of shawarma, or dutch shoarma, too much of a good thing and my skin feels oily... can't eat it every day. 😂 (I genuinely tried to do that over a week)
