They should have updated the wheel wells in the last few years to fit 33's with no lift. The Silverado zr2 desperately needs 35s with the size and wheelbase of the thing, and apparently they rub with 34s

I would get the 6.2 V8 version. I love my 02' Blazer ZR2 with 300k miles & I paid $3k for her 6yrs ago. She's been a great work horse with that 4.3ltr but the new Chevy ZR2 P/U with front & rear lockers? Just makes me wanna trade mine in but I also love zero payments 🤟

I would imagine someone who is looking to buy this might actually off-road it as it doesn’t seem to be a status symbol like a Raptor or Trx . So in that regard it’s just an OK price at MSRP. Any markup for this truck would just be silly. I had a regular cab S-10 ZR2 like 20 years ago, that thing was a blast back then LOL!🇺🇸💪

I think this truck had a $3k bogie but I’m with you, not worth it over MSRP. Forgot all about the S10, talk about a truck you couldn’t kill 💪🏾🇺🇸

Great video review JB. I wouldn't get the Colorado ZR2 or the Silverado Trail Boss. I do agree that the Colorado ZR2 has some great advantages over the Trail Boss and the truck I would get but, having said that I would get the Silverado 1500 ZR2.

Yup, if you’re gonna pay $50k, you may have to look at a Silverado ZR2 although I’m sure dealers are going to add crazy markup to it… thanks Ric 👍🏾

@@JB_WhoWork if a dealer is marking up I wouldn’t buy from them. There are dealerships that aren’t sticking it to people out there. You just have to shop around.

Nice review. The shocks are Chevy’s claim to fame with the ZR2 along with the front and rear selectable lockers. And now you can get a Silverado ZR2. It has the same shocks and also a selectable front and rear locker. Only 1500 truck on the market with a front locker. They are pretty pricey(nearly $70,000 to start) but they are also basically fully loaded. You get the 6.2 and 10 speed, 360 cameras, heated and cooled seats, new interior and basically every option GM offers is available except for Super Cruise.

Great info, I do like the idea of the Silverado ZR2, especially after seeing the Colorado. It felt like it was missing something after I got done driving it 🤔.. thanks Matthew 👍🏾

@@JB_WhoWork I’m not a huge fan of the smaller trucks so I’m not real familiar with the Colorado. I do know they have only had very minor updates since they first came out so they are definitely a full generation behind the 1500/2500s

@JB_WhoWork I have the same truck. I got it tuned with the Trifecta Advantage Tune. That added about 30hp and 40lb/ft of torque. I know I'm resurrecting an old comment section, but when I read that you felt something was missing after driving it, I thought of how much better my throttle response became after the tune. Also, the shifting pattern and the power it added was just enough to make the truck so much more fun to drive.

Personally I'm not a fan of the fake aggressive styling. The fake hood and lower from side vents are just indications of what could have been but aren't . Honestly if you're highway cruising with this truck, shame on you. Get another trim level 🤣 Also I don't think "appalled" is how you actually felt when you first saw DSSV shocks on the Colorado 😛 Still, great video JB! Keep 'em coming!
