thanks man, i fixed mines using your procedure, i just re-soldered cables and used hot glue to keep 'em in place, also applied more hot glue in the remain cables to keep 'em in place too. Problem solved.

thanks. What a pain. I had to replace mine 6 times thru warranty over the last year. Same problem with yours on 3 and loose battery one the other ones keep making noise when I move my head. Really poor quality on this model.

Any idea how to maximize its volume? I tried compared my jbl duet nc to beats studio 2.0 but they differ in volume. I tested pairing on both android and iphone and put to max volume but it doesnt sound loud compared to beats. Feels like there is volume limiter

Relevant for my e65btnc’s, I bought these in a hurry and should have done some research… Sporadic crackling after nearly 2 years (always in a case and taken care of), then constantly with NC active, so this probably applies for all JBL models. Followed instructions with a twist. I drilled a new hole and used utp cable wire to replace the 2 sides of the driver, not touching the mic, added some electric tape inside to cover the hole. They work fine again now, last time I bought JBL, what s**t R&D. Next will be Sennheiser, Bose or Sony. How are those treading you?

Same issue here. So, looks like I just need to pull the cushion off and then the speaker plate to get to the wires underneath. no need to mess with the back side of the ear piece.

correct, provided there enough free cable to pull for proper soldering. In my case I had to start from the back as I did not know where the loose connection is and the first suspect was the plate and the wires connecting the plate

My problem came from overcharging and I didn’t keep it on the charger all the time the static went away

If still relevant: First you go very gently between the outer ring with something very thin, I used a small Victorinox knife and a putty knife. (zero visible damage here) The rest should be strait forward from the tutorial. The triangle screws you can take out with a flat screwdriver (F*** you JBL) Don’t try this if you’re not at least a bit familiar with electronics repair/DIY or it’s a guaranteed failure. When opening the driver housing you will always need to repair. The short wire will break no matter how gentle you are, just too short to open the case.

Just simply force to open it, it has 5 undercuts inside, just go ahead, no worry to be damaged.
