Love these little cars! Here in Singapore where cars sell like the price of a small home, Colt VR is a sensible alternative to an Evo or STI.

Yeap the baby evo price is pretty reasonable at the moment... but may not be soon. haha

I just took over one for 73k. The price of a car is nowadays plus the COE is crazy. Very zippy but actually quite OK on FC despite been a Turbocharged Car. As long as you don't keep flooring it. Mine can last about 540km with full tank, I am light footed most of the time but I will floor only when needed. Definitely not a slow car, normally I step abit only already dashed quite a distance away from the traffic light. Not a very fast car either, then again really depend on your mods and tunes. The boost alone when you floor the gas can literally push you back to your seat.

It’s really interesting seeing how popular kei cars are in Singapore, especially since we hardly get/got any here in America. The closest thing we have would probably the EH Civic.

The Colt doesn't really fall in the category of Kei car, more like a compact. In Singapore, there are not many Kei cars actually, we have a few like the Honda S660 and Daihatsu Copen, but they are rarely seen on the roads because the sky-high prices for a tiny car don't seem to make much sense. :)

Hi. I'm importing one of these with low mileage 2011. It will be with automatic gearbox. I want to throw couple mods on my car - blitz induction kit, kakimoto racing exhaust and blitz blow off valve. Because of automatic transmission I'm not sure if is going to handle stage 1? Do I need a remap if I installed listed mods or is it ok to drive without any remap? Thanks for help

It's always safer to do a remap whenever you change the engine dynamics of the car. This way, the transmission can keep up with the mods and also allows you to maximise the mod potential. No point if you got extra power, but the gear cannot deliver the power to the wheels efficiently. Hope this helps!

Hi there nice video,how much boost is he running please as I couldn’t quite hear?and his power is 220hp?Very cool car.I have one actually same model and modified specs making similar power 220ps

Same Colour as well!! Fell in love with this beautiful JDM pocket rocket.The VR is also my daily too.Question for the owner..did he have his fenders and side skirts re-painted gloss black?Need mine done too.Thank you

Hey, great to hear from another Colt R owner! The owner is running 1.38 boost, making 240bhp on the crank. His fenders are OEM factory black actually. Not repainted.

@@ArtTunerz thank you for your reply,oh ok yes his fenders come black factory but they are very shiney like gloss black?im only asking because mine are faded now and even the sideskirts too have faded just wondering cause I need mine repainted..1.38bar boost..

Hi, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately in Singapore, there is currently a mask mandate being enforced in all public areas. So there is your answer, not that anyone of sound mind wants to wear a mask outdoors for no reason.
