The biggest evidence it's fake is the poison used. Rat poison? It's almost certainly was a warfarin based rat poison. And warfarin is used medically. I take enough warfarin to kill several rats every day. If it really was a small dose of rat poison, then it should have been unnoticeable. If it was a large dose the symptoms wouldn't have been as described. Warfarin is a blood thinner so a large dose would cause internal bleeding. Additionally warfarin isn't that fast acting. It would have taken awhile for it to set in.

OP, you do not need to feel guilty about unknowingly giving your BIL the food your SIL poisoned. Your BIL had to be hospitalized, but he survived. If you had been poisoned, you would not have your daughter and might have died. Your SIL would might have gotten away with it, too. She is a dangerous person and should not walk free. I can’t imagine her raising a child, either. Imagine what she would do to that child if they one day did something she found offensive? No, this was the best outcome in a terrible situation.

I am not so sure if this is a real story. Basically every English speaking country that I know of once the police are involved dealing with serious crimes such as attempted murder are immediately pressed by they police, the victim can press civil charges and choose not to testify but that does not mean the person who committed the crime is not charged.

As mental as Kayla is, her brother should come clean and tell everyone about her offering herself to him in their youth. I simply don't believe she never did. She must have.
