@@debbylou5729 I think he meant that it's not voiced over, that would be dubbing and @nemesisundead83 is looking for subtitles. I cannot stand dubbing. I think of those Japanese King Kong films where the mouth continues to move and no words come out.

@@debbylou5729 Dubbing is when a different language is laid overtop of the original performance, usually by another actor/voice actor, replacing the original language dialog. Notoriously famous for being obvious that the lips don't line up with the words. What do you think dubbing is? Having subtitles (the translation printed at the bottom) means the movie is "Subtitled". But to answer the question, no the movie is not dubbed. The theatre listings in North America say French with English subtitles.

I want to hear their French. I am American. I will absolutely read. I remember watching Life Is Beautiful in 8th grade & was thinking "this is ridiculous having to read all of the words" - well, it was an experience that decimated me & I will remember it forever. I watched the English dubbed version after the original Italian subtitled version out of curiosity & I absolutely recommend watching a foreign film in its original language first if you are able to. Also with Jeanne Du Barry we will hear Johnny's and the cast do the fantastic job they all did that won them praise at Cannes as the headlining movie.

Right. Mostly everyone can read the subtitles, they just don't want to, and that's the loss of Hollywood's true cinema influence disappearing throughout the years. JD did an honest interview about it and Hollywood not caring anymore. It is understandable for those who have disabilities and I hope if they want to see or hear it they get the chance too. It's delightful and it's been long awaited for it to come here to the USA. They couldn't find the right distributor so Johnny and his team made it happen. They really did their best, and that's why the delay in it getting to North America.
