This video will show you how to test and replace the bad fuel injectors in a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ with a 4.0 Liter 6 cylinder engine. The error codes were P0202 and P0302, which are related to the second cylinder misfiring. The injectors are placed right above the intake and exhaust manifold where the heat rises to the injectors and damages them. In my case the second fuel injector was bad and I replaced the set of 6 injectors with remanufactured Bosch 4 hole 24 lb fuel injectors.

Pressure damper or make your own by aftermarket rail with cap ends bolt on n off , also having a good scoop helps plus adding a small cooling fan , mean while you can get 2 frozen ice packs one inside the bottom part of the air filter cabin ,the other some put fans long with it, the other ice pack will go on top of the fuel injectors getting hot , adjusting your air intake n gas throttle to be more accelerated will help for quicker flow reducing heat put all that's temporarily for 45 min trips

You have to reboot the computer after completion of the job and before starting the engine...you can do this by simply taking the battery cables off and touching them and holdibg them together for 30 sec....or by taking the ecm relay out and putting it back in after a minute..

I did not do this power reset and let the computer decide that the injector is functioning properly. It took about 20-30 miles of driving though for the error code to go away.

I just did this and I didn't know. I got codes for oxygen sensors running rich. Driving did not reset. Cleared codes and drive. Did this song and dance for 3 days. Finally installed fuel pressure regulator and drove 7 miles and no more codes so far. 🤞

Great video !!! 2 Question, 1st. after you put the fuel rail back with the inject where was the leak coming from??? that part was not shown in the video. 2nd. did you replace your injectors initially due to the muffler smoking? or what was the jeep doing to make you think it was the injectors failer? Thx...

The fuel leak was from the base of the injector connecting to the fuel rail. While putting the injector back into the rail, I had kinked the rubber o ring seal while pushing with a screw driver. I replaced that o ring with another one and the leak was fixed. I did not have any muffler smoking. I had a bad injector #2 and the error codes P0302 & P0202 came on.

Thank you, great video. Mine requires cycling key several times to start, then runs rough for a few seconds and then clears up. I suspect one injectors is leaking fuel pressure in to cylinder. Can I ohm test to find the bad injector, if it is just leaking but otherwise works ok? This happened after I put Lucas fuel injector cleaner in the tank- everything was fine until then :(

Interesting that this started happening after the cleaner was added. You surely can rule out bad injector using the ohm test, but if there is no error code, the injectors should be fine. Maybe the cleaner is pushing gunk out, you may wait to see how it behaves with next tank of gas without cleaner.

I have the same problem...am getting the 302 cylinder 2 missfire...am about to check the injectors...am hoping thats the problem...I already replaced the spark plugs and the coil...

Yes, very possible. If you have a ohm meter (multi-meter) check the resistance on that fuel injector vs the other ones. It will validate it before you buy replacements.

@@DIYWithIndi yes I will do. I would replace all of them but they are very expnsive here in Puerto Rico...for just one it cost me $67!!!...when on ebay they sell for that price or less for all six of them!!!

I have a 04 Cherokee it has a cyl 6 misfire just changed coil pack and plugs are brand new it feels real sluggish when trying to give gas and the check engine light comes on and flashes only when I get on the gas a little hard think it could be the injector ?

What error code are you getting when check engine light comes on? If it is showing P0206 or P0306, it may show 6th injector malfunction. If you do not know how to read the error code, see my other video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i510rbR_ztvOaJc.html. You can also check the injector using an ohm meter - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8VjhrCirc-Uo4E.html.

The engine was shaking and shuddering, also the engine check light came on with P0302 error.

Most possibly replacing the injector 2 will fix it. If you have a way to measure the resistance with an ohmmeter, check the second injector comparing to the other ones. It should give you a very high reading as I showed in my video. If that is the case, the injector is bad.

Mine ran fine until the engine was hot and the resistance grew when hot. Also check out the link to Ebay below the Amazon link. You can buy the set of injectors for $60 which I did.

Hi injector p002 after coil sparkplug and fuel injector replaced still says bad injector swaped injector twice for new one still p002 shows any ideas

The error code will not reset right away. It took me about 30 miles of driving to reset itself. The computer detects no misfire during that time.

Damn man thats like anywhere from $180 - $550 for decent to good parts. Eeeek. Gotta do what ya got ta do eh? What are the resistance specs? I can't find info. Mine read 11.6 across the board. help?

Resistance should be closer to 14 ohms. See my other video on testing these - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8VjhrCirc-Uo4E.html. As long as the resistance is not too high, these should work. Reman injectors are cheaper. I see a set for $70 on eBay - See the links I put in the description. The amazon ones are around $120.

@@maniacalmonster2293 Yes, should be close to 12 ohms when cold, but actual test is when engine is hot. See my other video. Yours should be good.

Maybe slightly higher mpg, but I have felt a bit of more power. Possibly due to the 4 hole injectors vs original 1 hole. But all it matters is it runs fine after the injectors were replaced.
