Todays video we look at a all too common issue with the Jeep 4.0 engine is that is cracked headers. People always ask have your banks torque tube headers cracked at all ? and the answer is no. Even after having the jeep supercharged for awhile the headers did not crack. don't buy the ebay headers that last only a short while. Spend the money and get the banks headers

That's good to know the Banks headers held up. They are pricey but if they last then they are worth it.

I just yesterday ordered a Banks header for my 99 4.0 WJ. Lunati cam on the way as well. 800-4500 rpm. Also snorkel CAI. What would be your estimate of HP increase to be expected with these 3 upgrades?

I'm not sure what comes on every TJ 4.0, but my 2003 Sahara has more of a factory header setup. (Still 2 pre-cats) Definitely NOT cast manifolds. Just curious what yours came with originally and if you thought the addition of an aftermarket header was worthwhile overall.

Banks makes an awesome product. I use their cat back system on my TJ , been on there for three years and still going strong . Take care Jerry and say hi to Tomcat for me please .

Nope they crack. Mine cracked around the O2 sencor

I have the Banks cat back exhaust on my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn 4.0. Not obnoxiously loud but has a stout, throaty growl. Thinking of removing the catalytic converter for more power and getting Banks headers. Cats suck, they're expensive and restrict power, totally useless!

Fuck yeah. Hate I went through the exact same shit as you. Oem to Ebay header to Omix to Rugged Ridge. 4 cracked headers in 8.5 years. FML

I love how Banks brags in their literature about being 409SS and not 304SS..... bigger numerically is not always better. Had those been 304SS they would not be rusted.

Paint or coat it before install if rust is a concern.

Stainless steel rust. I worked at a bank and the safe deposit boxes were made out of Stainless steel and finger prints would cause it to rust.

There are 2 designs, the latter an improvement. Also a flex pipe makes a big difference in prevention of cracking and even more importantly - upgraded motor mounts.
