A bit about VideoShowMeHow
***************************
►Where did this start?
I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself' so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
►What will you find here?
The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)
New videos are being uploaded regularly so if there's something you'd like to see, have Questions and/or Comments drop me a line.
Cheers guys.
Adam

@@VideoShowMeHow I'm thinking of getting a 2.5" lift from AEV. So is it still recommended to upgrade those suspension components mentioned in your video?
@VideoShowMeHow
@VideoShowMeHow 3 жыл бұрын
@@recreation_outdoors no you should be ok. For anything 3"+ you'll need most of those components ideally. I'd do the lift and see how it drives. Can always upgrade other bits later. If you're running bigger tyres (eg 35s +) def recommend the steering shaft brace

@@VideoShowMeHow No I've had the lift for a while now, it's a 3.5" rock Krawler lift with mid arms , coils springs and fox shocks on 37", Currie Antirock Front and rear Sway Bar Kits on a 2015 JKU. everything was OK until i completed going through Rubicon trail, i made it through just fine but as I was driving back down from lake Tahoe on pavement I noticed steering wandering like the jeep is drunk driving.
@VideoShowMeHow
@VideoShowMeHow 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah nice man I will get over to the Rubicon Trail one day... on the bucket list! With your setup (pretty sweet btw) I would be checking for damage/wear from the trail, checkout your links/bushings/ball joints. I'd also check your steering box for slop/play. Running 37s and hitting that big of a trail would have worked it out for sure. Thought about running a steering brace? Got a vid on the install on the channel.. they're cheap and it made a really noticeable difference in how tight steering felt when I installed it on my rig.

When replacing the factory track bar with an aftermarket one like the Synergy track bar is keeping the weight of the vehicle on the tires required?

@Video Show Me How, I have al ready purchased a aftermarket drag link and tie rod since I was told that they needed to be replaced. But what else should I look into? Since when I am going down the highway @70mph the steering for the Jeep needs constant correction to stay in the middle of the lane. What would you recommend that I should pick up for aftermarket part replacement since it is an 07. Additionally, should I worry about replacing the rear ball joints or trackbar? Thanks 🤙.
@VideoShowMeHow
@VideoShowMeHow 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, no ball joints on the rear just the front, I'd start there to make sure there's no play. If your steering is wandering, there's a good chance your caster is off, have you lifted the jeep? If you have you will need more positive caster to make it steer like factory again. Things like caster correction brackets or adjustable front upper and lower control arms will help with this. Lots of good info online :) 🤟

Video Show Me How thanks. I have 33’s. They seem to grab every groove in the road. It gets tiresome on long trips. I bought it already lifted with a 2-3” lift. Wish I’d paid more attention. From what I’m seeing I have a bump steer problem maybe more.
@VideoShowMeHow
@VideoShowMeHow 5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it mate, easy check is to see how parallel your various bars are (track bar, drag link etc). If they're at too much of an angle it could cause bump steer. May need to look at getting some correction brackets

So when i lift my jeep 2.5 inches, should i unbolt the Track bar? Or can i leave it on? I did my dads this week leveling kit and did not unbolt the trackbar, just wondering if i should be and why
@VideoShowMeHow
@VideoShowMeHow 4 жыл бұрын
It's usually recommended to remove trackbar bolt and loosen control arm bolts when doing a lift. Then when everything is in and jeep back on the ground retorque everything. This is so you don't put extra stress/binding on your bushings etc.

I'm a little confused. Can you give me some advice. I have a 2013 JKU. I had some bump steer issues. I've put on an adjustable track bar, a RC track bar bracket at the axle and a yeti hd drag link flip. I have a RC 3.5" lift with the drop pitman arm. My bump steer feels worse now. If I were to go to stock pitman, wouldn't the drag link and track bar then be out of parallel?? When I go over big bumps my Jeep feels like the back end goes on a different direction than the front end. My steering wheel definitely had bump steer when hitting any bump. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hey Brian, hmm sounds like you've gotost covered. I'd delete the Pitman drop bracket, never been a fan of those things for a bunch of reasons and see how it drives then. Are all the bushings and links themselves sound? Ball joints good?
