Its really sad, Mike. An old mate of mine who sadly passed away from cancer in 2003 grew up with Jeff coming into the family pub in Wadhurst and got to know him well. I heard loads of great stories. Got to meet him eventually and see him live too. A brilliant musician and lovely guy.

Thank you Mike. Love ya brother. RIP Jeff Beck. You will be sorely missed. He delicately balanced between artist, visionary and musical genius. He was one of the main reasons I ever picked up a guitar. Him, Clapton, EVH, Michael Schenker and Hendrix.

Mike, I'm heartbroken, even more than Gary's death. As an over 60 year old musician I see my own end road approaching faster. ( u know my story) and I morn these huge losses deeper sll the time..I hope you are well good friend and I always wish you the best! My personalized autograph from Jeff is 1 of my prized possessions and hangs framed in my office.

Totally gutted when I found out, he was seriously unique and a pure master, guitarist come and go but there was only one Jeff Beck 😭😭😭. My condolences to his family and close friends, Rest in peace Mr Beck xx

Jeff Beck has been my guitar God since I was 17, 44 years ago. He still is, although he has passed away. RIP.

_Edit: The track I refer to below is "Two Rivers" from Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop album._ Very sad news. One my favourite Jeff Beck compositions was the theme tune to "South Atlantic Raiders", one of the "Comic Strip Presents..." episodes from the early 90's. Up to that point I had never heard a guitar being played quite so expressively - subtle vibrato swoops, pinched harmonics and tapped harmonics too with some seemingly impossible high notes. RIP Jeff, you were a master of the instrument.😮

I still cant believe he is gone. I am close to refusing to believe - I feel like listening to his songs and live performances and interviews and not allowing any belief that he may have left us, is the best way to deal with his passing over into an even better life.

I know it's sad that a great, talented Guitarist has died, but the man was 78, let's not forget that many people don't reach it to nearly that age. I think 78 is still a good age!there are youngsters dying every day from knife crime, some as young as 14!get a grip people seriously.
