It’s crazy to me how he says the beauty community is dead. It’s really not. I still watch my favorite beauty KZfaqrs that actively post. It’s just not so dramatic anymore, and a positive community.. so it may not get as much attention anymore.

Logan Paul really hasn’t missed a beat lately with having on controversial guests for his podcast… First, it was Liam Payne. Next, it’s Jeffree, and look where that’s gotten them. 😳

Jeffree: it was so unfun, it got SOO toxic Jeffree 2 SECONDS LATER: we were so successful and everyone hated and it was everyone else’s fault.

"The beauty community is dead" means he stopped selling out of palettes and so he thinks people are no longer buying makeup. He had a HUGE hand in this particular drama and he knows it. The community went back to actually just putting on foundation rather than putting someone else's business online.

BUT James really DID end up being a danger to society!! EVERYTHING Tati said originally was true and James gaslighted her into thinking it wasn't. Jeffery and Shane were toxic and them bullying a child was pathetic but if they had handled it the right way when it started happening instead of treating it like drama or 'tea' then maybe so many kids wouldn't have been manipulated and hurt by James. He did exactly what they claimed, used his power over people who looked up to him, he really did need a wake up call, which sadly still hasn't happened, I think part of that was his response video being so well received that he felt vindicated, like he hadn't done anything wrong and now he still feels that way. I wish when people brought this drama up that they would mention that, it always seems to left out and treated like a separate issue but it's not. While Tati may have been pushed into making the video bc she felt emotional over her close friend promoting her competitor, I think the real bomb dropped in the video was her segment on him being inappropriate with men and it's STILL AN ISSUE

Idk I mean Jeffree is right about how honestly the beauty guru community is dead, like I haven’t watched a beauty guru video in a minute and I think it’s because the content has gotten boring. I mean you can only watch someone put on full foundation, concealer, powder, blush, highlight, some elaborate eye makeup look, falsies, and a type of lip so many times before it all just becomes repetitive. Also I think a lot of people haven’t really cared about doing like a full glam look since COVID, so yeah I agree, the whole beauty guru industry isn’t as lucrative as it once was, the only makeup person I watch nowadays is Bailey Sarian and Kennie JD, but that’s because Bailey talks about true crime and Kennie talks about bad movies.

There is just no drama in the beauty community. It’s nice to not see all the drama anymore. And Tati is still my favorite after 10 years.

To everyone saying the beauty community isn’t dead… I have to disagree slightly with you. It may still be “alive” and people are creating, but it is no where near as big as it used to be. Creators have their true fans now and that’s it. Previously, multiple beauty videos by a huge amount of creators were pushed every time you logged onto KZfaq. Now I will be lucky if I am pushed 1 beauty video a week outside of the people I follow. You have to actively search the videos

I do feel the beauty community is dead and it's a good thing. Hear me out...there was a lot in what I believe caused it's downfall. For one, yes absolutely the drama. So many petty issues exploding into huge ordeals. You've got the gurus crying in their McMansions about how horrible it is because they're involved in some petty argument. This especially wasn't received well during Covid when you had people losing their jobs, homes and even lives to this pandemic and here's a guru who's completely lost their perspective upset that someone was mean to them on the playground. On the topic of Covid, that also played a huge role in the makeup community's downfall. Many people were now working from home so there was no reason to put makeup on every day. Completely fine if you chose to, but the need to look pulled together every wasn't there. And if you did go out, you certainly didn't need as much makeup because of masks. You didn't want makeup rubbing off on the mask so you'd scale back the amount in that area and you absolutely weren't wearing lip products to speak of. Last, the makeup industry played an instrumental role in the downfall of it's own downfall. Consumerism surrounding makeup was out of control. Everything was NEW NEW NEW! I was guilty of buying way more than I could ever dream of using (I'm a female btw, just using the hub's YT lol). I grew so disgusted in all the waste along with all the drama. One day I looked at everything I owned and felt it was such a waste. I reached this point before Covid but I think that was the tipping point for many consumers. We'd all realized we'd put so much emphasis into something frivolous and downright wasteful. Covid helped many of us discover renewed appreciation for what was most important to us. And makeup wasn't it. At least not the beauty community. At some point makeup stopped being a fun outlet and grew into a toxic obsession for so many. You also saw a switch where everyone's video was sponsored. I am in no way knocking the person accepting the sponsorship. Yes, the person probably did lose credibility because they now were accepting sponsorhsips from everyone but they were probably also struggling during Covid. But these companies were saturating the market with sponsorships. Most likely a combination of a distinct drop in sales and a rise in people flocking to social media outlets during this time. But it backfired. Companies got too greedy and social media turned into one giant commercial that people began to ignore. I still like to treat myself to some new makeup here and there. I appreciate the way the makeup on social media is now. For the most part it's smaller channels who are making videos because they simply enjoy it. No longer is the driving force of every video trying new makeup that you never see them use again. It's got a much smaller audience and is back to where it use to be back when people just enjoyed makeup.

I haven't kept up with Beauty KZfaq in like, two years maybe, so this is how I find out that Jeffree Star moved to Wyoming and has a yak ranch, girl WHAT

Beauty community is over saturated everyone and their mother has a makeup line. There’s no originality everything is the same. When co*id happened there was no need for makeup and we got use to it and focused more on skincare. All the money that was spent on makeup was now being spent on skincare. I honestly feel like he is somewhat addicted to toxicity and controversy. He has been the center or bad news for years and has profited on being messy his whole career. When he was silent and working to better himself he lost profits. I think his past is not only affecting him but just everything built around him that was FROM the toxic Star. I think the Drama Bubble popped and the toxicity got way out of hand. It became a trend to dig up "dirt" on any big name youtuber and that's what people did and it wrecked creators mental health and pressured them to make choices that they now regret.

I agree with Jeffree, I think the beauty community on KZfaq is dead. It’s nowhere near as popular as it was back in 2017/18 and there’s been a definite shift in how people talk about it. All that drama should have been left behind the scenes. besides the drama in the beauty community, i think another reason it sorta became less popular was just because of covid in general, like with the slow down of makeup production & millions of people losing their jobs, people just couldn’t drop everything to buy the newest makeup collection ya know, i know shane got cancelled big time for being a creep & jeffree got called out for his racist and bad remarks a couple years and neither of them have really bounced back, i mean jeffree refusing to acknowledge that he’s the issue since morphe dropped him and he never apologized for his behavior. it’s just weird.
