@@myleague90 they’re talking about at bars, clubs. restaurants, anywhere…someone’s home even…if you can watch them make your drink, then do so. If not, we’re left to trust them. I’d say more like not leaving your drink and walking away. Always have it in your possession and if you have to walk away and plan on coming back to it, take it with you, if possible. If not, drink it down. As much as possible, WATCH your drink being made. Not everyone is your friend, including ones that you might think are! Jeff was notorious for ordering these guys drinks at a bar then spiking them with drugs. Same at his home. That’s the mistake a lot of them made…TRUSTING him even tho they didn’t know him b/c he came off calm, cool and collected…they were made to feel at ease and let their guard down. Never let your guard down. Just saying.

I think it shows they don't have empathy. No wonder Jeffrey didn't have empathy. Fits with the dissecting his father taught him. You really have to shut off your emotions/empathy to dissect an animal. I watch general hospital to feel close to my mom. She was safe while it was on, but the rest of the day she was raging and destructive. Perhaps Jeffrey dissected people to feel closer to his absentee father (to re-live the "good times").

How closed is your brain? You are watching a 9-minute video of two people who had years to process what Jeffrey did. Years to grieve. Also they were in close contact with one of the victims sister, she even would visit them and she came to Jeffrey's funeral. Please do your research and open your mind a bit. Side note. Jeffrey is the killer. His parents are not responsible. Jeffrey even said this himself more than once.

Yeah that was ironic. I don’t hate dahmer and wish he be murdered tho. He’s the only serial killer I have genuine empathy for and feel bad for having that feeling and feeling sorry for him. Every cop he met said he was a nice guy and they couldn’t believe he done what he did. Also while his crimes are terrible, he killed 17 people, we must remember that bush Obama and Clinton have a combined victim count of 5 million men women children and babies. So just let that sink in for a moment. Dahmer was an amateur compared with them numbers. They are true psychopaths.

In understand that these are his parents but I would be ashamed to sit on Larry King or any other show and try to convince the world that my son, Jeffrey Dahmer wasn't all that bad of a boy. They want to convince us that the reason he did what he did was because he wasn't a Christian before but came to know God later while in prison. No one knows, only God knew his heart, I can't deny that. But what I also know is that there are lots of people who don't have an appreciation or even acknowlege that there is a creator and they don't go out an commit the types of heinous crimes that he committed. I have a friend who didn't believe in God for most of her life but the last time I saw her which was on my wedding day 2 years ago when she did my makeup and hair, she revealed to me that she now knows that there is a God and she loves him and knows he loves her. But in all the years that she didn't believe in God, she didn't go out and murder people and eat them and make furniture out of their bones and skulls. No matter how hard his dad may try, he can't excuse what his son did or redeem him in the eyes of most people. He was evil. His behavior went beyond "mentally ill" or a guy who was a little lost. The dad has this sweet voice and pleasant enough demeanor so I guess for some, it would be easy to be manipulated into the belief that we should in some way feel sorry for Jeffrey Dahmer. To me the dad doesn't show enough sorrow for what his son did nor does he show enough sorrow toward the victims and their families. Makes you wonder if he taught his son about remorse when he was raising him by his words as well as his actions or if he taught his son indirectly to avoid true accountability. Anybody can admit they did something but it's another thing to feel accountable and show it through remors. The dad should have taken this opportunity to be on Larry King's show to apologize publicly to everyone that was closely affected by what his son did instead of using it as an opportunity to win sympathy.
@robthomas897
@robthomas897 10 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about his parents, I never really understood why they both decided to be interviewed, and this is the second time Jeff's dad is being interviewed. He claims in this interview that he is doing this so other parents can try to look for signs that their kids are troubled, but a lot of ways that Jeff was when he was younger apply to a lot of kids, like being shy and quiet, I was and still am shy and quiet and never killed anyone, and I agree with you that just because Jeff didn't believe in God when he committed the murders, this is not the reason he did what he did. I did see an interview with Jeff where he claimed he didn't feel accountable when he murdered people b/c of his non belief of God, but like you said this is no excuse, he was very sick and he was messing around with the occult, which I firmly believe if you go deep enough into that stuff evil will attach itself to you, so I think the combination of him being mentally ill and whatever evil presented itself when he was messing with occult activities played a huge part in why he did what he did. The only thing I disagree with you on is his father teaching him remourse, this is something you either have or you don't have, I don't believe it can be taught. You can try to teach a child that they should feel bad for what they have done, but that doesn't mean that they are truly going to feel bad, they may pretend to appease their parents or other people to get themselves out of trouble, but people who are psychopaths are not going to feel bad for what they have done, regardless of whether or not someone tries to teach them.
@millicentjones4400
@millicentjones4400 10 жыл бұрын
I agree with you Rob, remorse is something that either a person possesses or he doesn't. But I also know that children learn from watching us, the parents. If a child is raised in an environment where their parents always make excuses for the things they do that are wrong, they're not teaching their children accountability or to own up and say "yes, this was my doing, this was my fault." We have to teach our children that it's not okay to hurt someone's feelings or call people names or steal the little neighbor boy's bicycle and we teach our children these very valualble lessons not only in word but also in deed. The only reason I implied that perhaps his dad didn't set the best example in this area is simply due to the fact that the gentleman sat on the Larry King show and made nothing but excuses for his son. Never once did he look at the camera and say to the victim's families "I am very sorry for the pain my son caused your families and for your loss." Yes Rob, you're right about psycopaths and sociopaths and all the other paths out there that simply lack remorse but I think early on, parents can contribute to that as well either in a positive way or a negative way. Here's a case in point and then I'm going to put this subject to rest. I don't care if he finds out I wrote this because I'm not saying anything about him that isn't true. My son's father is one of those "it's everybody else's fault but mine" kind of people. The only times last year that my son was late for school was when his dad took him (which is rare because I take him most everyday). I asked my son one day why he was late getting to school the day before and he said "It's because of the idiots on the road. They kept doing stupid stuff to hold up traffic and slowed my dad down." I chuckled to myself because it is so classic for his dad to lay blame. He would never admit "you know what son, maybe we should have left the house a few minutes earlier" or "maybe I should have gotten gas the night before so that we wouldn't have had to stop this morning which took time out of our travel". Am I saying that my son is going to turn into a serial killer because of this sort of thing? Of course not. But this kind of thing could easily start the cycle of laying blame and not accepting accountability.
@robthomas897
@robthomas897 10 жыл бұрын
Millicent Jones You are right about teaching your children accountability, yes, parents need to teach their children that when they screw up they need to accept responsibility and try to do better in the future. As far as Jeff's dad goes, I didn't really think about it until I read your comments, I'm on the fence now on whether I feel he's trying to "excuse away" Jeff's behavior, but if you listen to him here and in other interviews, he seems to be remembering Jeff when he was a child, and not really looking at his son as a grown adult who turned into a monster, and I don't have kids, but I can understand him not wanting to look at his child as a monster though, and just remember him as an innocent child. I mean every video you see of Jeffrey they're talking about what a monster his son is, I don't know, I'm just not sure if he's trying to convince other people or trying to convince himself maybe that his son wasn't all that bad.

+Millicent Jones - The only point I would have to counter, in your post above, is that I believe HE WAS extremely mentally ill! We're just 50 years ahead of what we used to do to mentally ill patients - by performing frontal lobotomies and electrocution. We don't even understand was about 80+% of the brain does - we're not even close to being able to understand what was wrong with this man... But, I can tell you this: Kidney failure is real, heart attacks are real, thyroid issues are real, appendicitis is real... ALL of these are organs, which - when they happen to fail, have a huge impact on how a person (or their bodies) behave. *THE BRAIN IS ALSO AN ORGAN!* We know that all other organs in our body have the potential to fail or behave abnormally - why not the brain? Would you ever look at someone who has to inject insulin because their pancreas is not working, and say to them, "Oh, you horrible jerk! You're just 'evil', we should kill you!" - Of course you wouldn't!! Therefore, the next time you come across a person whose brain is malfunctioning - try to remember - they are no worse than a person who has lost their sight, due to some organ within their optical system not working correctly. It's only when the BRAIN ORGAN malfunctions, that we start thinking people are 'evil' - but, they're not! THEY'RE SICK! Just like your neighbor with IBS. Only difference is the ACTIONS are more heinous when the organ impacted is the brain. One day, I hope soon, we will find the issue(s) behind this and maybe even a way to correct it! He's just as much a victim as women who can't have babies due to a dysfunctional uterus.... same thing, just different organ!!

Also, I always had trouble seeing the resemblance between Jeff and his father. Somehow, in this video, I believe that man looks like his son.

His son? No ownership, nothing! Makes you wonder if they had shown love to the guy, he might have turned out different?

A legend for murdering somebody’s child? Nope. Doesn’t make anything better. He was a thug who was just as brutal as any other low life tbh

Unfortunately for your theory and wishes, murder is punishable by death Revelations 21:8. Dahmer was a born again Christian when he died and Paul says "So were some of you" in 1 Corinthians 6 9-11. Dahmer is the so were some of you. However Carver killed two people that day and he said God told him to do it. If he was told by God to kill Dahmer, why did he also tell him to kill someone else at the same time? Carver was supposed to be a Christian. If he was he lost his salvation at that point unless he repented. The scripture doesn't say you can be a Christian and a adulterer. A Christian and a murderer. And for the victims...Again in 1 Corinthians 6 9-10 it says no homosexual goes to heaven. It doesn't say the way that you die has any matter of fact. Actually in the Bible it tells us today is the day of salvation. Today because you are going to die. Will it be tomorrow? The homosexuals that he killed are in hell while I type this. If Jesus can't save Dahmer, then there's no hope for any of us. Because all of us have sinned we are all going to hell. Unless you have Jesus. He is the way the only way.

@@Halcyon1861 so, are you saying , you can do all sorts of evil, become a new born christian and all is forgotten about. I don't think it works that way. But, thanks for your opinion.

Parents aren’t responsible for the actions of their grown son criminal actions. Jeff said his parents were innocent and that nobody had a “clue” of what was going on. He was successful in keeping that secret until he lost control of himself and it (compulsion/urges) controlled him.

A lot of potential serial killers enjoy causing harm or pain to other ppl or animals when they are kids. Parents should be aware of this too.

Larry King as crappy interviewer. He always has been. He was just lucky to get started when that business was new. He's just reading off wikipedia and asking questions he has no interest in. He was a bad interviewer for the Chris Benoit suicide and lots of others. Over-rated in the extreme.
