It seemed only fitting during the quarantine that I would perform some of my favorite songs to help y'all get through these times. This installment features a song that means a lot to me, 'Smoking Section'. The boys and I played these things live without a click track and I hope y'all enjoy the change up. I've always felt making music was very therapeutic for me, and I hope someone who needs this hears it.
We filmed these at the Amber Sound in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a sucker for a vibe in music - that feeling when a sound completely shifts the mood of a room. This vibe was more like an indie rock house show than a studio, which left me feeling inspired. Let me know what y'all think in the comments below.

Walking through life I’ve learned that pain is the common denominator between all of us. When I wrote ‘Smoking Section’ I was speaking to anyone out there going through the loss of a loved one. It’s hard when someone you love leaves, but love is so powerful that the memories and their spirit will never fade.

I lost my husband in March 2022 and I feel like I'm lost and there's days that I don't even want to wake up, and his 1-year is coming up and there's days where I'm waiting for him to walk into the door and you don't even show up. I hope your trying to heal, it's very rough and people will tell you move on, it's not easy. Until you go through sadness like what you went through, people don't understand. I went through two tragedies, loss of a boyfriend December 5th, 2016 to suicide. My other boyfriend February 9th, 2021 Liver Failure. God will heal our heart and soul ❤

@Blessed This song was played because it WAS one of my husband's favorite songs. There was no one getting hi after his funeral. We had a celebration of love and life. My husband was sober for 8 months before he passed. In our state Marijuana is legal and if he had not indulging in a few smokes or edibles his last month would have been more painful than it was. His marijuana use was APPROVED by his doctor's. I don't appreciate you assuming things you don't know and saying the things you said. His pastor had just left our home about 2 hours before he passed. The pastor was with us constantly for the last 4 days of his life and saw him smoking and said nothing. He didn't condom my husband for pertaking of an approved medicine by his Dr's. He even talked about it with our family. So take your holy than thoug attitude somewhere else. I know he and I will be reunited in heaven.

My mama passed in June 2019 and I miss her so much, it is still a open wound on my heart and soul. But my first experiences with losing loved ones was with my grandpa and a few months later my brother passed away. I miss them so much. I was only nine years old and my brother was 14. It changed our family dynamics.

I lost my mom first a couple years ago my sister followed her around a year later. My brother went last. Our travels are to quick before we have sense of real love for the moments that matter.
