I have done these sort of nostalgic food hauls too, usually going more for convenience than Jen. Things such as Erdnuss-Flips, instant ice-tea, Milka Noisette (Poundworld used to have them, when they went under I wept). Where my cravings overlap with Jen is black liquorice (the hardcore stuff) and Hanuta. At one point Lidl-UK sold a Hanuta-dup which was on the money, but that didn't last long.

Yes, you can get fresh yeast in some of the Polish shops :) Took me years to find it, not all of them have it so I always buy 2-3 pieces when I see it. We often make Fladenbrot (das Fluffige, nicht das Platte, wie hier in UK) or Brezen and dry yeast never seems to work as well. I'm really homesick now! In addition to some of the things you got from German Deli we always get some Paderborner bread, vegan Katjes, Pommessalz, Müsliriegel as well as alcohol and shampoo/conditioner because they're so much cheaper in Germany. We do, however, go by car so we have enough space to stock up. Oh, and I usually get new a new pair of Biolatschen because I don't like the fluffy kind of slippers 😂

Dextrose energy tablets are in the medical aisle in UK supermarkets 🙂. I used to love them as a kid!

im form the uk and visited my aunt in nansen in germany some where between hamburg and frankfurt but we had some meat from the german supermarket not sure if it was bacon or beef but it was ordered in milligrams but it was the best salted meat i have ever and beat danish bacon hands down we ate all of it in one sitting would love to get hold of it once more but my memory couldnt remember what it was called in germany but im sure it was from the delicatessen in the super market

Ritter Chocolate I always buy 4 blocks a week from my local store in the north of england, like all EU sourced chocolate knocks the spots off english massed produced chocolate!!!! I find Lidl and Aldi are a good source for EU sourced chocolate, thank goodness!!!

If you go to the back door of a local bakery they'll usually give you fresh yeast and you can get fresh baked bread and rolls.
