I'm lucky to have watched Neil Jenkins and the other lads in his prime for Ponty. Him leaving was devastating, but he came back.

I recall the first time I saw Neil Jenkins wearing the Red jersey and saying to my wife " This guy is phenomenal ", and will hold a permanent place in the Welsh side. As an Englishman married to a Welsh girl, you can imagine the emotions when watching Wales v England, but I always thought Neil was the finest player on the Park, and still think that he should have shared the podium with Gareth as the greatest Welsh player ever.

People talk about his kicking alot, but for me his greatest attribute was his passing. He hit the centre every single time.

Imagine how many points jenks would have scored playing behind the eng pack at the time like Wilkinson did who had so many more opportunities for goal kicks . Imagine how many more points jenks would have scored if he wasn't kicked out of the team by the one eyed selectors for wannabes like arwel Thomas.. Jesus wept the unhealthy obsession within Wales living in the past for the number 10 jersey was mind blowing.. jenks was perfect for Wales at 10 n that era when rugby had changed from the 70,s and defences were so much more organised and it took a new Zealander to realise what skill set jenks had to offer in abundance at 10.. jenks was incredibly consistent for club and country and to be honest how Townsend got the nod over jenks at 10 for the lions was unbelievable when comparing both players.. jenks you've been superb for club and country we salute you

Very underrated 10. One of the best distributers left or right ad great reader of a game.

I remember as a kid we got a new rugby coach at our school and when he called the first team meeting he asked "how many outside half's do we have? " and 12 of the 25 boys there stepped forward. The number 10 jersey in Wales is almost sacred lol I remember when Jenks first made the team I was annoyed as he was no Jonathan Davies but during that dark period in the early 90's he nearly single handedly kept us in games that we had no right winning with amazing goal kicking so the ginger monster won me over

you should have seen him for Pontypridd. Way better than for wales because ponty's pack was better than Wales'

First player to score 1000 points in rugby union whilst playing for some of worst Welsh teams in history. Imagine if he played in a successful side. What a guy!

I've said this before .. imagine if jenks had the fortune of playing behind an English pack like Wilkinson.. jenks points record would never have been broken such were the consistent opportunity for penalty kicks and conversions

If jenks was born in nz.. he would have been number 10 for the all blacks .. ironically it took a kiwi coach to make Welsh public realise just how rock solid an outside half with an all round game jenks was.

Fabulous, great guy, wonderful career. But I thought he'd be much taller than Martin Williams 😂 Very proud, and well deserved.

Great to hear him praise Ellery Hanley. A true rugby man knows that both codes are great sports.

Is this off the DVD from his testimonial match with Jason Leonard?

So it was Neil who was making those quite literal gut-wrenching noises in the 'Living with the LIons 1997'. Hahaha good lad anyways. Edit: 32:45
