Not sure if you knew this, but the reason you didn't see the death scene in the pool this time is cuz that's the same character that died when Scissor lad broke through the stained glass ceiling. The death just depends on where you go first. 👍

its funny to me that its a DEAD END if Jennifer gets temporarily knocked down by the Scissor Man taking a stab at her. he doesnt even hit her, he just narrowly misses and does a victory dance at successfully getting her to take a stumble. "Jennifer has bumbled and is in SHAMBLES at her embarrassment, DEAD END"

There's some funny interactions with the vanity mirrors in the game that they haven't discovered in this playthrough

You guys make such a good team you could be rating bathroom tissue and still make it fun. I’d watch a Liam/Matt side channel.

Randomization in survival horror games should be used more often.

The drowning girl was Ann. In the current playthrough, she instead got impaled through the stain glass window.

I saw the title and I pointed at the screen and was like,"HA!! I GET THE REFERENCE!!"

I drew my own map of the REmake mansion to prepare for a knife only speed(ish)run. Making your own maps is a cool thing I really wish more games would make an actual mechanic out of, like how Etrian Odyssey does it.

28:15 Retro Game challenge is my favorite DS game. Sucked that 2 didnt get an US port :( . It was the first game that got me into achievements, for better and worse, since the main method of progress is to complete challenges.

Liam with the Game Center CX shoutout. Great game. (aka Retro Game Challenge in US) Both the first game and Japanese exclusive sequel were both awesome DS titles. Both games do some really awesome 8-bit sorta spiritual remakes of Star Soldier, Final Fantasy, Pacman, Ghost and Goblins, Deja'Vu, Ninja Gaiden, Tetris, and Super Mario World, just to name some highlights in both those games.

Man, I feel the spirit of the past. Totally can't wait for more, even though this just released.

The phone is driving me crazy and I'm not even playing.

The games he is talking about are known as Retro Game Challenge 1 and 2 on the DS. A deceptively generic name for quite unique games.

I started laughing when the dude Matt said at first that he had drawn maps for the X-Men game for the NES because that game had randomly generated maps.

This has reminded me of when Joel played it good times. Though of course it went a lot faster for him playing snes with fast forward and rewind buttons... on his honest to goodness real life snes tm.

I have a suggestion for these Let's Plays to avoid as much downtime. When the person playing the adventure game gets stuck, the other should consider looking up a walkthrough/hint guide and providing cryptic hints to the other player. Only when stuck, and try not to read ahead! It can help make the video feel like it's progressing a bit more. It is a little artificial, so only consider it if you're both still stuck after 10 minutes of searching.
