Jennifer's not doing all right 😅 Who knew going to a concert would be so dangerous! And this movie is giving me my early 2000's fix 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

There are a couple very good video essays on KZfaq that delve into it deeper, but the people who marketed this movie tried to attract teenage boys and young adult males, while EVERYONE who worked on the film knew it should have been aimed at teenage girls and young women. I remember ads for this movie made it seem like it was a trashy frat boy horror movie that mainly focused on "Hey! Look! The hot chick from Transforms is in this movie!" rather than actually focusing on any of the themes from the movie. Amanda Seyfried didn't really even show up in the ads. Sucker Punch is another movie that I feel suffered from marketing advertising to an audience the movie wasn't aimed at.

Ah memories. Amanda Seyfried and Johnny Simmons were really professional and down to earth. We were told not to even look in Megan Fox's direction. Supposedly we were looking at her too much. When we pointed out that all of our cues were based on what she did. The AD just gave us a sad shrug. This was day 2 of shooting.

Oh wow. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the artist themselves that ask for that, or if their team does all that. Because if it’s the latter, it often ends up making the artist look bad.

People sure didn't know what to do with this movie when it first came out, thankfully we have become more enlightened over time.

It's kind of interesting that Jennifer herself is a bit of an awful person who just uses Needy as her doormat while still very much being the victim in all of this. I still ended up feeling bad for her at the end when she finally died. Yeah, she ate some dude's, just eviscerated those guys, but damn she didn't asked for any of this. Also, as soon as I saw homeboy with the facial piercings I knew at some point in the movie he was dead, may as well have had a sign hanging around his neck saying "eat me", poor bastard.

She was a terrible friend 😭 but even the worst of us should be sacrificed especially for another indie band lol

This and Teeth are perfect for a double feature. Fun films that get overlooked too often.

I loved your reaction! You funny as hell. I think Jennifer and Needy became connected after Needy sucked her blood when they were kids. It’s also hinted that they used to experiment with one another. I can definitely imagine Jennifer telling Needy it doesn’t count cuz it’s “different plumbing” on some Glee shit. Jennifer becoming a succubus seemed to have made their connection even stronger. I think rhetorical necklaces not only represents that bond, but also Jennifer’s humanity(or what’s left of it). I don’t think Jen feels particularly loved by her morher(“she’s got a date with the guy at the ham store”), and so Needy was the only thing really keeping her anchored. There’s a deleted scene in the locker room that I feel highlights this pretty well. I think her love for Needy was really her only drive for living. And so when Needy finally ends their friendship(pulls off the necklace), all the fight seems to go out of Jen. Also, Chip was a horrible person and my baby Colin deserved to live. I’m pretty sure the entire story is supposed to be a metaphor for SA and maybe hypersexuality as a trauma response? Thinking of it along those lines, it makes sense why Jen never tries to kill Low Shoulder. She’s superhuman and could easily kill them(as seen by Needy), but she’s still too scared and traumatized. If I was Needy I would’ve became like her manager and we would’ve went around killing abusers and r*pists, but that’s just me I guess.🤷🏾‍♀️

You skipped my fav lines in the movie at the pool scene! After Jennifer gets impaled she asks Needy "Do you have a tampon? You look like your plugging" 😂 And Needy saying, "She's just hovering. It's not that impressive." 😈 Saw this in a triple feature at the drive-ins when it came out along with Zombieland and Pandorum. Went with my brother and my sister and my dad. Had a blast. So happy this movie found a new following the last few years. It's so fun and I really enjoy Diablo Cody's dialogue.

Adam Brody is in a few horror favorites: this, Scream 4, and I really recommend reacting to Ready Or Not (2019), if you haven't seen it yet!~ Hopefully, without saying too much and spoiling things, Ready or Not really fits the bill of what you were looking for when you were talking about this and Tucker & Dale^.^

Marketing failed this film, so it didn't find the proper audience when it came out. That's why it's now a cult classic because the people who actually enjoy this film have found it more and more over time. I found this film because Panic! At The Disco created the song New Perspective which plays during the ending credits lol My Panic! At The Disco-loving self was so freaking excited to watch the movie, they created a music video for it as well.

@@abi_corinne They'd be Silence! At The Disco because everyone in the audience would be sick of them playing the same song repeatedly XD Panic! At The Disco was my entire high school soundtrack XD

The fact that you opened this video by saying it was a horror-comedy makes me think this will be a very entertaining reaction. 🤣 If I'm remembering this right, when this movie came out it did very poorly at the box office. It was marketed as a sort of "Scary Movie-esque" comedy, and people were disappointed when it wasn't that.
