This video demonstrates how to work Jeny' Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off in a knit version. The bind off has a lovely and elastic result, which is my favourite way to finish off a pair of toe-up socks, and can also be useful in certain shawl patterns too.

Thank you for this explanation! I don't bind-off sweater collars often enough to have it memorized yet. So having the stitch at my fingertips through KZfaq and your website and expertise and clear explanation is a life saver ; - )!

Thank you- very clearly explained stitches and you didn’t flick through your stitches quickly like many knitters doing this with continental knitting. Love your Aussie accent, I understood exactly what you were saying. And I am a senior from the Midwestern U.S. I could see what each motion was doing on the needles. Thank again, KK.

Very clear, easy to understand tutorial. Thanks! I, too, wonder about how to bind off in pattern (k1p1 hat cuff) using this technique. I’m just going to try it and see how it looks.

The best one I have seen. If you were doing a purl stitch would you wrap yarn between needles and over RH needle? Thanks.

Thank you for such clear instructions - I had absolutely no trouble understanding with your accent. Would casting off purl stitches also have a clockwise yarn over? Or would it have to be counterclockwise?

I have a question I don’t believe you cover... I may have missed it. Hers the Q: Do you use this Jeny bo when doing a 1x1 rib on a toe up sock. IN OTHERS WORDS ..... Are purl and knit stitches worked the same on this bind off? Thank you for your most used full educational videos! They make learning not so scary!

Can you tell me what yarn you are using and what color? Love it!! My husband was watching this video with me, and even he commented on how pretty the yarn is. Your video on this bind off is really great!!!

Hi Rochelle! Thank you so much, I'm really glad it was helpful! :) The yarn is Miss Click Clack (available via etsy) on the Darling Road DK base. Unfortunately it was an OOAK colourway, but she has many other beautiful and similar pinks! :)

Thanks for making this! Do you know the best way to adapt it for double-knit items? I've tried it by doing it with each color while alternating and it looks ok so far, but was wondering if you had a different method you lked.

Hi Mathew, that's a really excellent question that I wish I could help with! But I don't have much experience with double knitting unfortunately, so I'm not sure how you'd best use this cast on for it sorry.

@@TheSweaterCollective I tried it with Jeny's SSBO and it works great! You have to keep track of which color you're doing, but doing one the bind-off one stitch at a time worked!

As an Aussie, I was SO relieved to find a knitting video featuring an Australian accent. It's the first one I've found after watching MANY knitting videos. Keep up the good work and thanks!

These are constructive suggestions: 1) Too much talk; 2) too much twitching. You have an extreme accent that is not going to be easily understood by many who might watch, so it's even more important in your case to plan what you need to get across and say it succinctly. Simple and clear. And you gesture with your hands and twitch the needles around as you're chatting, which makes it confusing and misleading to watch and try to determine what you're doing. Also, most people would say your YOs are counterclockwise.

Evie Hammond the extreme accent you speak of is a pretty stock standard Australian accent :)

I'm French-Canadian and I had no trouble at all understanding your instructions... AND your accent 😉 I had to find a stretchy bind-off for a piece of knitting that was NOT ribbed 🙂 Thank you for this very helpful video!

I can’t imagine what you are talking about. This is such a clear video. 1) Why would you say she talks too much when she is just explaining the process? 2) I did not see any “twitching”. Seriously? 3) Anyone who understands the English language should have no problem understanding her. I had to watch a second time to see what you were talking about. Perhaps you left a comment on the wrong video.

Extreme accent? Would you like her to live in America for a while so that she can assimilate to your accent? Your "constructive CRITICISMS" are not helpful nor nice.
