You guessed it... another runaway for James. $68,816 going into final Jeopardy. He bet $50,000, for a total of $118,816. A 14 day total $1,061,554. I think he's getting better. Keep in mind they film 5 episodes a day twice a week. James gets 15 minutes between games. Other contestants are not aware of his winnings until the start of the game.

At 2:08, when Alex announces James' total winnings so far $1,061,554, you can hear the crowd going "WHOO!" as they're impressed and are happy that James did it, he passed the $1M mark. It must've been great for Alex, too because this was the first time in 15 years that he had been able announce someone's total winnings starting with the words, "One million." It's great that this contestant came along BEFORE Alex's passing because Alex really enjoyed having James on the show. Alex actually found out that he had cancer during James' run. James' daughter even made a get well card for Alex. That's sweet. Along with the thousands of other get well cards Alex got.

Maybe one who wants when others fail? Seen cons in black jack who don't hit. 50% of time all bust but the con. Jennings run was longest because he was smarter & bet conservatively. Really shows how far ahead of his time he was.

If he plays the tournament of champions, he'll become the first person to win more than $250k because his 2-day winnings will exceed $250k

@Winslow 250k is the minimum amount that the champion wins. But because the average winner takes home around $20,000 per game, it's considered inconceivable that anybody could rack up more than 250k over two games. It seems unlikely that Holzhauer will average $125,000 for the two days since the record that he holds for one day winnings is "only" $110,914.

He needs to actually bet a bit less on the 2nd daily double with the lead if he wants to keep winning and break the 74 win streak. He only has about a %96 chance to get it right. The harder the category and question is expected to be, obviously the less he should bet. It's weird because the value of 30k to 60k is ~60k for him, but the destruction of 30k to 0 is literally millions. He has so much equity in future games that it would be a shame to lose one. He essentially is wagering $1,000,000 to win $55k sometimes The math is basically Daily double x2 plus x2 from final jeopardy on correct answer vs all the $$$ from future shows combined if he had bet smaller and won, for a wrong answer.

Is that really what he needs to do? I'd say he is doing pretty good for himself without out the advice of want-a-be Jeopardy experts.
