I agree with your assessment, although I do love how the Rebar is like the perfect smaller edition of the Supertool 300. I find myself loving the weight difference, though it sacrifices a bit of hardiness and a couple tools.

I am constantly going back and forth for that same reason. The rebar I can easily drop in my pocket and the 300 I can drop and break a toe. In this scenario I was talking about SHTF or can only have one but thankfully I have them both and get to enjoy them both!

1. thank you. 2. i believe that the last time i acquired a multitool was about 10 or more years ago. i have about 15 of them. 3. obviously, some of the models were not in existence. 4. the number one requirement was that a tool MUST have a scissors. For that reason, i have given away a number of tools. 5. therefore, my choice is the leatherman wave. however, when i fly and go to a foreign country and run the risk of a tool being stolen, i take a different leatherman which is smaller and still has a scissors.

Scissors are such a common make or break. I have a scissor available outside of my MT so I don't really rely on them for that. For travel, I have an entirely separate kit that i will be covering soon in place of an MT because so far any MT that is also TSA approved just doesn't cut it for me.

Thanks for posting this! If the Victorinox had drill bits to go into the corkscrew and magnets in the bit wrench that would put it over the top.

Great point! If Victorinox made a few small tweaks like this, maybe even changing the blade shape a bit like the Boker tech tool, it would be an ideal pocket tool.

I like the smaller victorinox multi tool. I think the size of the spirit is unnecessary. With that said I think the durability on the victorinox is deceptively strong.

Victorinox has unquestionable durability in my opinion. But, just like the original VW Bug, just because it's indestructible and the right size, doesn't mean it's effective or pretty lol. Although I do love the traditional Victorinox models.

@@Jfree441 it's funny though your video made me realize something, I don't know if it's just my perception, or if there is some truth to the visual... But I have the smaller model to the spirit for the Victorinox and to me the spirit looks like a bigger tool in frame with the same proportional size tools to the smaller mini tool.

I had my wave sometime before the Wave+ was a thing. Not sure it's worth buying if I have the older model still that is perfectly viable. What about he Wave+ makes it top for you?

I have a super tool 300 main reason why I chose it over the surge because I do like the surge it's the fact of scissors I've looked at all of them I've had a couple of different kind even some cheaper ones but the Leatherman super tool 300 has been my go-to I do have a rebar but I don't use it as much but like I said the biggest thing what I like them is because I think the scissors are the most useless tool in the kit I've got Friends of mine that are electricians landscapers I myself was a landscaper I have friends and construction they all say the same thing the scissors are useless maybe if you were filled physician maybe a medic but construction worker Blue collar guy I don't see where the scissors are useful as far as I'm concerned they're a waste of space I would own a surge if it wasn't for the scissors

There is something about the ST300 that just feels more solid I think. I use scissors but I have my victorinox which covers that and the other tools are near perfect.
