butcher bay is one of my favorite games. watching him mash the use button on the assault rife and ignoring it saying unauthorized or his health going down made me grip my chair.

For some reasons, I’m 1000% capable of watching a long edit or a full vod of either Jerma, Joel or Vinny BUT I can’t watch shows or movies anymore ^^’. You’re doing wonderful jobs with those edits and I love to watch them when I’m working or falling asleep 💕.

I think it’s because it’s lonely watching a movie alone. But watching these vids feel like we’re apart of a greater live audience and jerma is interacting with us. I watch vods when I’m alone and I feel like I’m chillin with my buds. Cringe but true.

I remember seeing this game in Gamestop when I was a kid and my dad going "we aren't getting that. Its a bad game." I wonder now how much he actually knew about it or if he just thought it was too violent for me. Or maybe he just hates Vin Diesel, because he also said Wheelman was a bad game... which he was right about.

I grew up with this buddy who was spoiled on video games. Kid probably had 100+ xbox games but this was the game I remember him talking about the most. Jerma's got an interesting choice of games to stream, pretty much all things I wanted to try at some point in my youth but completely forgotten since.

It's a very, very good game. Butcher's Bay itself held some problems... the game was extremely innovative at its time, but that came with some issues that even some re-releases didn't address or fix. The Dark Athena update was strong, basically adding another entire game, and DA came with a host of other improvements itself. It's pretty day, but for a game of its age it holds up remarkably well.

Many games from the early-mid 2000s looked great, it's just that lots of people nowadays say "this looks like a PS2 game" as an insult for some reason

This is the 2009 remake. The original looked pretty good too though, better than Doom 3 from the same year. And it didn't look like there's vaseline all over everything. Interestingly, it came out as an Xbox exclusive in June 2004, the PC version came out in December with improved graphics. Even so, the Xbox version looks good, it's 2001 hardware after all! (But the PC port wouldn't work fine at all on a 2001 video card, how they managed it on the Xbox is beyond me.)
