I was one of the lucky ones who were playing pool in Madison WI during the early 70s when Jerry opened and operated Cuenique Billiards. This guy has more overall knowledge of this game than anyone I've ever met, except maybe Frank Stellman of Racine. Before Jerry came to Madison, there were a handful of players who could run a couple of racks of straight pool or who played decent 9 ball. Within 10 years, road players who stopped in Madison lots of times left busted. Most of that knowledge was freely given away to his regular customers before he started officially "instructing" for a fee. Most of the time, he'd grab a cue and jump into a ring game or he'd find you alone practicing and the next thing you knew it, you had someone who really knew the game and how to teach it. That is Jerry's strength - he's a great teacher. But I also sat one afternoon and watched him play 9 ball with a road player, and I don't remember him ever missing a ball.

this helped my game so much. never had anybody say don't focus on making the ball. I just played the best pool of my life the other night. plus I was moving my head which I wasn't really conscious of

I've been playing for about 30 years, and thi is still a awesome practice tool. That and playing 9 ball by yourself to force you to play position.

I've watched about 20 of these. This guy really articulates aiming and stroking, as well as anyone, if not better. CJ wiley does a great job, too. Tor does nicely, as well

Great advice, with one caveat. At 2:56, you said "Stop and check. If you don't like it, if anything is wrong, fix it and warm up again..." That's fine, but you adjusted your body while down in your stance. Anytime you see anyone do that, you can almost bet they're going to miss the shot. If you don't like something while you're down in your stance, it's better to stand up and start your pre-shot routine again.

bushputz your absolutely right. If there is something you don’t like stand up and go through your pre shot routine again. Don’t adjust down on the ball

@@toddrobertson1398 Jerry even said that too but then kind of did it but not as much. Things have come a long way over time.

Thank you for the aiming tip? No multi steps just one simple step to follow. I will practice this and provide feedback.

Shooting balls off the spot is an excellent way to develop aim and stroke. Tor Lowry recommends shooting 2000 balls off the spot before hitting an object ball with the cue ball.

Two things you say its chin lock but your eye is the one in sight with the ball and pocket and when you r down yor chin is off center its your eye that is in line. When they look at the ball they r sighting it up with that not your chin. right or wrong

You like to wrap your pointing finger around the cue. I never could shoot like that. The cue would always bounce against my fingers and throw the shot off. I knowv Willie Mosconi used to shoot like that, but it never worked for me.

I know couple guys that play really well in a wheelchair, I think you still get your sights lined up and lock it in as best you can.
