Two of Rugby Unions biggest stars, Jonah Lomu and Jerry Collins. Lomu became Rugby's first Global Superstar, Collins was feared and respected as one of the Hardest Hitters.
Sadly both men passed away in 2015 leaving the Rugby World in mourning.

Two greats there Matt. Jerry "The Terminator" Collins , he didnt take many prisoners, hard as fook played for the Ospreys down here in Swansea, what a player, im pretty sure he was sat in a pub down in devon and they didnt have a telly , so Jerry went out to local shop and bought one and took it back to the pub, Jonah played for Cardiff at one time but at the end of his career, I remember him in a Guiness advert , he was sat in this kiosk in a pub in dublin, no one knew he was in there, the punters put a coin in and a rugby ball come out with Jonahs signature, then after about an hour he came out of the kiosk, punters couldnt believe it, its on youtube , 2 great humble men, sadly gone

I remember watching Jonah play for Papakura vs Waiuku (my home club) he had 1 guy on his back, 1 guy around his hips and 1 guy wrapped around a leg and was still going forward until a 4th came in to finally put him down. Just a beast, RIP big guy.

Was working on a house 3 doors down from Jonahs, he made me and the other 2 boys lunch and sat with us for smoko. Also met Jerry and Ma'a Nonu out clubbing in Wellington, Jerry asked me for a smoke, i told him it would stunt his growth he laughed then gave me the death stare. Great video Matt, the stories about Jerry when he played for the ospreys were legendary. He would often ask a taxi driver to take him to some random valleys village and he would just turn up in some pub, the locals loved him. As someone else mentioned the telly story, what I heard was that Jerry turned up in some village pub and asked the landlord if he could watch the telly as there was a rugby match on, the landlord said sure but the telly was only a portable one, "hang on" said Jerry, and he crossed the road to a supermarket and came back with a huge flat screen telly, "there you go mate, plug that one in" said Jerry, what a man!.

Jonah not just the first global rugby superstar, but probably still the only one. I'd rate Carter and McCaw ahead of him as players, but they didn't have his global star power and I don't think anyone has come close since. Jonah bought people to the game - you wanted to see him play. I was lucky enough to see him in a pre-season game at Ballymore for the Blues against Queensland in around 1998 and he was up against Ben Tune - himself a 100kg, very good international winger. All night long, Tune was a speed bump....Jonah terrorized him. Jonah was the most destructive runner of the ball we have ever seen.

@@mattlegg1976 playing my last game of rugby at home next weekend for my home team aspatria rufc. It will be hard and emotional. Rugby has given me so much over the years, it’s immeasurable the joy it has given me. Winning a county cup at Twickenham, highest try scorer in the country, Cumbria player of the year.playing in the Scottish premiership. All through this beautiful brutal sport. Your KZfaq rugby content always embraces what I love about rugby. Hard men, skill, passion, family. If your ever in Cumbria call in so I can buy you a pint. Thanks again.

Hi Matt. I just discovered your channel a couple days ago. I like your content. I have a question for you concerning boxing. I hope you respond. What quality makes one fighter good at boxing and another guy great at boxing? I watched you hit a heavy bag and you can really crack. You hit hard. You have a lot of snap in your punches especially the jab. I've seen James Toney hit the heavy bag. I think you look better on the heavy bag than he does and I think your hands are quicker but he beat you and he was an all time great. What is the difference between you and him? I ask the question because I did some amateur boxing and I had a lot of snap in my punches and looked really good on the heavy bag and it didn't really translate in the ring. Do you think some guys just have a knack of getting their fists to find their opponents face without getting hit themselves? My trainer was all about punching hard. In his opinion if you didn't hit hard you weren't a good fighter. I don't necessarily agree. What do you think?
