70 years old and still love Beaver! Brings back a lot of good memories for me. Back in the 50s our Country was a friendly Family oriented. Not much to worry about. Hugh Beaumont played JESSIE JAMES in Wells Fargo! Great performance!!!

The thing about Leave it to Beaver is it always makes you feel good. My husband (who never saw it before) was laughing the first time I played a few shows. So you instantly connect to the characters. Nice interview.

I’m a 50s child, and watched the shows in the original run. The way Beaver’s mind worked made sense to me because it’s the way my mind worked. Flash forward 15 years, I’m an elementary school teacher. The reruns are on, and I’m watching them. I realized kids never changed. My 4th graders still thought like Beaver. I filled a VHS tape (so you know when that was), and one Friday at the end of the day I showed the class an episode. Every week I’d hear “Can we watch Beaver on Friday?” I still love the show. Andy Griffith, Lucy, Dick Van Dyke, the Cleavers...I’ll watch those over any modern sitcom.

Remember when the Beaver cussed a kid out? He got tripped and called the kid something but cut to the teacher’s face and the bell censored it.

My husband and I have been watching about two or three episodes a night on Peacock. The Cleavers just moved into the new house and Beaver let the tub run over. Not only was it good writing but the comedic timing/delivery of the two boys was perfect. 🤩. I started first grade and L it TB in 1957. And I’m with Beaver. I watch Fox, OAN, Newsmax.

It's interesting how not unlike Beaver and Wally in real life may have political differences it doesn't cause a divide in their relationship. We all can all learn that lesson, of what we share in common to bridge that divide. As I'm politically with Wally, yet I love everything about this show. I've often thought Dolly Parton is another great example of one that we could all vote for together! ~ ❤️

The amazing thing about their 6 year run, it never cracked Top 10 in the Nielsen Ratings, and it was cancelled by CBS after the first season!!!! ABC was astute enough to pick it up for season 2 and beyond!! Think its been said there is NEVER a time when the show is not being watched somewhere in the world since 1957!!

These guys are on ideologically different sides of the spectrum (Mathers joined the military just like his father and son, Dow is an artist and sculptor), but remain friends, you almost cannot do that these days.

@@Trytantix Why certainly! It's the nature of the beast: Leftists are cynical and vicious. Rightists are positive and congenial. I've described it as street thugs versus choir boys, and now girls. And thank goodness for my sisters, because they're tough, and they stand up. A few men do, but not many.
