Not uncommon for sonic toothbrush. I took another well known bran of toothbrush apart when it stopped working. Battery was fine but of course those can be replaced depending on the brand. What had happened in this case was water infiltrated from top of the toothbrush and wrecked the notor and gears. Bought a cheapass model this time around so when it packs it in less of a $ loss.

This is why I love your content, you are able to mix Theoretical science and practical science very well. Not to be pedantic, but gold is actually worse at conducting electricity than copper. The only reason gold is used is because of its excellent corrosion resistance. For thermal conductivity, nickel-plated copper is frequently used but for electrical conductivity, gold-plated copper is used.
