I understand that Jihad is different or more extreme in Haddiths (teachings by respected teachers of Islam) subsequent to their original “inspired” authority of their Quaran. And the answer that is often given in response to that question is that the Jews accepted Yasser Arafat as someone they hoped could bring some peace to the region. Roman Catholics weren’t a thing back then. I did hear that, in the Quran there are hymns to Jesus taken from a Christian Syriac source. That is to say a Christian hymn book written in Syriac was compared to parts of the Quran and there is a clear borrowing of literature. Mohammeds first wife was an older woman, maybe she was a Christian.

I've heard it explained that Muslims are taught that Jesus did not die on the cross, that Allah made everyone believe that he died (I don't know the reason they give for why this was supposedly done). It's one of the reasons they think Allah is the great schemer (or deceiver, depending on who you ask)
