I hate controversy, and some very upset people are demanding I take down my Chaim Walder posts. But I WILL NOT because of something I experienced Purim a decade ago.

Evil such as this has no place in the way of life God wants for us. It doesn't matter if the perpetrator is a Rabbi, a Sheikh, a Priest or Politician - they all must be brought to account for their evil. I do not have children but I can only imagine the grief those families must have gone through when they found out what has been happening to their children. May God Bless the children and their families with Grace, Consolation and Strength. Aminnn..

Spot on with your Purim analogy! I was just arguing this point with my colleagues that when we hear incidents such as these, there should be no intellectual weighing of guilt or innocence. Our psyche should be so abhorred by these things that our gut reaction should only be one thing: BLOOD! Anything less than that is a sign that it doesn't disgust you enough and that your gut reaction is not to just want to take such animals and punish them.

the most painful to the victims are those parents, and "so-called" friends, even incompetent undiscerning rabbis, priests and so-called spiritual religious leaders not to believe them... it shows they are not known to these significant others.... victims not seen or valued by them.... if they were..... they would have been known when they were lying and when they were not........nevertheless, lying or not, the first rule of thumb always is SAFETY & PROTECTION of the young and the weak..... most often than not, these victims were never known in their own families and, expectedly, the same pattern choosing the wrong friends and spiritual guides.... it always takes HaSheM to raise the red flag and expose first of all their negligence, devaluation, full of personal issues and FAKENESS.... and unfortunately, suffering in the hands of the molesters.... please... STOP NEGLECTING CHILDREN....

Everyone hates controversy - just putting that out there. I am not a "people pleaser" but still hate controversy. Please don't attribute not liking controversy to a particular natured person. Some people have achieved a lot by doing things, which have been considered "controversial" when their intention was simply to do the right thing. Many stand idly by the blood of their fellow because they claim they "don't want to be controversial" when really they are lazy and assume no responsibility.

Personally I'm not throwing out the books. My heart is full of compassion for all the victims, and for walders family, and I even feel compassion for walder himself - I'm assuming he didn't do it out of maliciousness. Probably he had a mental addiction or something

@@brachagoetz9140 every abuser was once an innocent child. Somewhere along the way they developed dangerous impulses. When that happens those formerly innocent children have no option but to keep their developing problems a secret - less they be utterly destroyed. This creates a vicious cycle.. Kids need to know that it's only actions that are bad - the person himself is never condemned. Certainly the person's good will not be destroyed too.

BS"D BH, this video showed up on my youtube tonight. Hearing all of your "uhms," I felt the difficulty with which you shared this topic. I hear how genuine & sincere your motivation is. When you completed what you had to share publicly, my entire being, my lungs and chest, heaved in deep relief. Here in Tzfat, nothing of significance has been done to stop benzion eliyahu lehrer, who also has horrific history in his years in Nachlaot, of conning and molesting his "clients." Worse yet, not only has he been supported by non-action, but one of his many many ex-wives must be suffering from stockholm syndrome, since she made a total about face from protecting others from him - to sending him clients. One local rabbi supported him to the point of welcoming lehrer into his shul AND providing him with yet another wife. I'm told recently that lehrer moved to another city in Israel. How many more innocents will he traumatize and harm?

What if it was a mistake? With all due respect, was Chaim Walder among those who molested kids in Nachlaot? As all people should not molest anyone, just as much people should not project their experiences and past emotions on anyone who is publicly blamed without chalachic proof. It’s also a very severe action that can push someone to death, like it did with this particular case. Hashem showed us what we do to each other with our tongues

Sad , to me the female body is a beautiful work of art endowed by the infinite one. Why can’t we just acknowledge and be humane and visually just appreciate the beauty of the female body “my god she is gorgeous “, “she looks like an angel” without any malicious intent. How do we go back to the innocence. I’m a bit immature and I like that so to me sex will always be lighthearted and funny, how can I go back to that,

Please don't mix apples and oranges. Many righteous Jews don't have the controversial minhag of making noise during the mention of Haman's name. For example in Yekkish kehilos this was traditionally unthinkable, and many others. It's possibly halachically problematic because it violates proper shul decorum, and often prevents people from hearing every single word in the megilla, which they should be doing lechatchila. This has nothing to do with protecting abusers. Actually it's quite offensive that you're linking the two. You may wish to look up mekoros when it comes to this minhag before criticising other yidden who are actually following their family customs and poskim

Any Jew who is summoned to court and refuses to come to say what he needs to say in order to defend himself against the serious accusations of 22 women, is enough to understand that he is evil. But on the other hand we need to understand that we are in a difficult generation of screens that take man out of sanity. And we need to think about how we can get the state to make laws that will filter out content that is problematic, such as violence and pornography.
@benhurn82772 жыл бұрын
Difficult times or not is no excuse for abusing vulnerable people. One is not "taken out of sanity" when they plan, manipulate, even build a profession to attract and abuse victims. If there was even a sacrifice for sins one committed but were not aware of, how much more when someone knew what they were doing to the extent that they took all kinds of steps to keep their crimes hidden? These criminals thrive on all the pity and reluctance to face the truth, they count on the excuses people make for them so that they can ignore the responsibility of dealing with ugly realities in life. We're not living in Gan Eden, this is the broken world where it is our job to support good and fight against evil. We've been taught to feel guilty for "hating" when its time to call out and stop criminals. Its not hate to face the truth, to take steps to protect victims and potential victims. We'll be held liable for ignoring victims and not stopping criminals-that itself is a crime.

sorry but this whole story stinks. Something doesn't add up and even more so because everyone is actually displaying an energy of hate in the name of love. It's good that people are talking about issues in the community. I hope systems and actions are put into place to make sure every child, woman, and soul is safe from predators. That being said, the Zohar calls this world alma deshikra the world of lies, which means ALMOST nothing is what it seems. ESPECIALLY because as someone with a background in psychology and who works in marketing, this smacks of a coordinated media campaign rather than an organic unification with a common goal. Pointing this out isn't discounting victims, it's trying to make sense of the truth. Make a birur at a time where everything is murky, especially what we see in the media. Food for thought.

Then why did he kill himself? Instead of simply analyzing the available information, you are choosing to ignore it. Do you really think it’s more likely that the truth is a conspiracy theory that you made up and have provided no evidence to support? Also, When you choose to ignore the victims testimony in favor of a version you just made up, you are 100% discounting the victims.
