The reason that the series (including a year in the life) ended like it did is because it was showing the parallels between Lorelai and Rory’s lives. Logan is Rory’s Christopher and Jess is Rory’s Luke. The original series was supposed to end with Rory telling her mother that she was pregnant so she was supposed to be much younger when it happened. This is why I believe that it should be concluded that Jess and Rory would eventually end up together and it was definitely hinted in the sequel mini series. Logan and Rory’s story would have played out much the same as Lorelai and Christopher’s. The same can be said for Rory and Jess and their parallels with Lorelai and Luke.

I still strongly believe that Jess was the best match for Rory. They both had some growing up to do, but ultimately they complimented one another the best. I know many argue how Dean was "perfect" for Rory due to how kind he was at the beginning, and how much he cared for Rory. Let's be honest though, when you're as bright as Rory is, maintaining a relationship with someone who could not hold a stimulating conversation in any of the fields she's interested in is difficult. She didn't need someone who attended Yale, or even college, but she needed someone who she could hold stimulating conversations with and understand her literary references. Initially Jess definitely comes across as the typical "bad boy," but in my eyes it was more teen angst. His family life wasn't the best. Despite how some try to portray Jess as unsuitable for Rory, he understood her and her quirks, he was overall incredibly supportive of her without trying to take control, Jess genuinely loved for her, and I believe their values were better matched than say Logan and Rory's were. They both just had some maturing to do is all.

Jess is really the only one who ever treated her right and cared about her even if they weren’t together. He looked out for her future and her well being. I need a reboot so bad where she moves back to town to stay with her mom while she’s pregnant and falls back in love with Jess because this story in unfinished.

Everytime i watch jess and rory compilations i cry. For how beuatifuk they were together and how sad their story was and how much I wish they'd end up together. Just...ughhh. they make me so emotional. My heart hurts but also I love it!

Was hurt the last time they didnt end up together. But it hurts so much worse now. Jess loved Rory, he studied her and he really knew her. That way he always knew how to help her, and love her. EXCEPT when he held out. That totally ruined them. I think he always felt like Rory was too good for him, but he actually ended up being too good for her. So heartbreaking and unfortunate. Taylor Swift's "The story of us" is literally their story. :(

How do you only have 9 subscribers?!! This is fantastic. I'm such a big fan of this catchy song and Rory/Jess is one of my #1 OTPs of all time. So many amazing and creative lyric matching choices. One of my favorites in this vid is the Luke moment and voiceover you chose for "everybody knows we have unfinished business". Another runner up for amazing lyric matching are both clips you vidded right around "convince myself i don't want it even though I do", especially the latter where she says "I think i may have loved you", where she's trying to convince herself she's fine just moving on... which also blends so perfectly into "you can break my heart in two" as the very next lyric. Him yelling after her "manipulator" and her turning back towards him is also just so super undervidded! I love seeing that and some of the undervidded voiceovers and moments in this. One has to be conscious of markets for shows produced and filmed for viewing. The Gilmore Girls, in my area, would not appeal to everyone because of the subject matter. Therefore, it had to be altered for other areas. There's no sense in debating this further, I understand markets for film and TV, more than ever before.

So I think Logan is ,,Rorys Christopher“ And tbh Logan as the babydad would be VERY realistic.I think (because Logan is the Christopher)that Jess and Rory should end up because he is ,,Rorys Luke“

100000 like bring it back where jess is endgame. i dont like how he treated her towards the end of their relationship (maybe just young and didnt know how to deal?) but he a constant in rorys life where when ever she is lost he helps her find her way back to herself. When he comes to her dorm... and deans there and then dean and rory reconnect this is to show that even if jess didnt leave, or things didnt work out with them or even meet jess... the reason for it ultimately ending with the same result - rory out growing dean. Then jess coming back into her life at this really important times and then them create a friendship after growing up, things happening, growing as individuals they always seem to come back together. I just read that how it was suppose to end was rory being pregnant was suppose to be the ending???.... so when the rebut happened jess would be like lorelei's luke. im so hoping they bring it back so badlyyyyyyyy to see this play out!!!!!! im so not done with them lol

I've always been between jess and Logan.

I love Jess guys and he was very important in Rory’s life but I think they outgrew each other. The love and push that they both needed they got from each other. I wish their relationship was longer and ended better but I think she was supposed to be with Logan at the end. But I loved the video by the way.

Yes, Jess and Rory were made for each other. But I think what most people can't get is Rory was truly in love with Logan. She may have loved Jess, but she lost interest or the romantic love she had for him when she got to know logan. And that's it, u don't always fall in love with ur soulmate, or with the perfect person for you. They couldn't end up together because she didn't love him the same way he did and Jess knew it, so he just kept being in love alone but didn't keep saying to her they belonged together, cause in my opinion they didn't

After AYITL Jess is too good for Rory after all she has done. I also wouldn't trust her alone with Logan if you see her track record. Logan is her drug she can't quit. Jess deserves better, a woman that suits him and doesn't sleep with married or engaged men! When Jess left Rory that really broke her because that's when she's regressing as a character. She kept choosing other guys when she had the chance to get back with Jess because she's scared to trust him again and that he will leave again. Her heart never healed when it comes to Jess the one that gave her first heartbreak.
