Krunic is so talented; can do anything with the ball.

I remember 2014, when Krunic did really well at the US Open, opening eyes as a little-known 21-year-old. She had a marvelous game then but only limited overall success since, despite playing a lot of good players. Her better success has been in doubles, and a 2022 serious knee injury curtailed her in recent years. But she has a nice, tight game when in-form. Happy to see her pull off this upset.

I always liked Krunic and I wondered what happened to her. So it was injuries. Krunic has always had the game to beat the top players and I love that she's a Serbian...well Russian/Serbian.

Everyone has gotten used to her consistency play and with her coming back from injury and her movement being a little suspect somethings gonna have to give. I think Jess also needs to deal with the mental stuff 1) her own age and the changing game 2) her injury concern 3) her moms sicknes 4) splitting from her doubles partner as her former parter has entered a really strong season in her career

If Pegula hadn't had inadequate physical power, she would absolutely have delivered a more dauntless and unyielding performance than the primary conjectures.

I don't know why Pegula constructs points the way she does. She's such a good ball striker that she can go for more. Instead of being sucked into her opponent's playing style. Just making it harder for herself for no reason.
