It's time for another kiln opening! This month has been crazy busy here at ClayShare. I have been working on a bunch of brand new pottery classes for the ClayShare app and recently traveled to Portland, Oregon for Georgies Open house! It was fabulous to get to meet all of my Clayshare family on the West cost who came out for the festivities and to see me demo! Now that I am back in the studio I have lots of pots to make and glaze so be ready for more fabulous pottery videos and kiln openings.
All of my kiln openings are filmed in 4K HD for KZfaq, tv.ClayShare.com, and as a live broadcast on my Facebook page. This allows me to answer your questions about what glaze I used and how I did it. If you want to joining the live fun be sure to follow the ClayShare facebook page and sign up for notifications.
As you know I love kiln openings and as I always say its either like Christmas or Halloween! With Halloween only a few days away I am happy to say that there were more treats than tricks in this kiln opening! Something I want you all to remember is that there are no failures just learning opportunities to do better next time!
I am thrilled with the first look at my brand new line of underglaze transfers on finished pots! There are 4 designs and they will be available 11/4/19 from chinaclayart.com!! I can't decide which one is my favorite but I do know that I am loving my new cappucchio cup with the red Scandi birds on it and the extra treat of the heart inside is just too much cuteness!
I am super excited that Clayscapes Pottery will be making and selling 5 more of my glazes in 2020! They will be Spearmint, Cobblestone, Berry(not Shown in this video), Oribe and the Lake Blue. I am still deciding what we should call the Oribe and the Lake Blue glazes and would love to hear your suggestions.
Lots of pieces with texture from my Holiday rolling pin and my Southwest pin in this kiln along with some great glaze tests. I am in LOVE with how the Amaco Celadon Deep Sea looks with Amaco Seaweed on top combined with my Moroccan Tile pattern, it is too yummy! Also this is my very first time using Mayco glazes. I tested out the Lavender Mist with Dark Flux on top. I really like that combo and need to explore more Mayco glazes in the future.
Pssst... did you see my cute little gnomes? They will be a class soon on ClayShare and the best part is if you don't have access to a kiln you can make them out of polymer or airdry clay. They are so fun to make and are a great project for any age or skill level!
I am thrilled with how even my L&L kiln fires. It is crazy how I can watch the firing on the app and see that it is completely even top to bottom! So impressed with this kiln what they can do!
