Ramekins are great additions to any kitchen. I love them for holding my recipe ingredients and they make the cutest little baking dishes. I encourage you to make a set of four (or more) because one just isn’t enough.

OMG you just changed my world 😉 I've rolled a lot of coils over the years but anyways struggled unable to make them round. That has changed completely overnight because of your tip on how to roll just in one direction. Thanks!! Now it works every time ❤🙏👍🌸

Hi Jessica, This is an older video, but I am always looking for projects to do with my kids’ class at our local rec center. My next class will be making ramekins. I would have smoothed the rim before putting putting the side wall on the bottom. Thanks for the idea.

Probably some things to consider when making items for food - it may be better to have smoother sides inside for easier cleaning. Ramekins are great for microwaving and making individual soups or keto breads, many other items. Some uses for old crochet lace particularly from past ancestors is to use it for impressions on clay. It is a great way to remember loved ones.

I really like this little pot. I used to love playing with clay. Jessica, can I use the clay in this video to make sculpture? Are these baked in a Klin or a regular oven? I've not had one before. Great job by the way, you make it look so easy.

Try using old bed sheets or T-shirts in the slab roller. I do and like the result.

Thanks for the sponge tip! I use those yellow sponges and I hate when they bring those groggy on the surface. Going to order it now. Do you mid fire your ramekin or high fire them?

Can you pit fire the glazed ramekins? Im just starting pottery and learning on my own as there is no close teaching facility, and I don't have a kiln, but I can dig a pit or improvise some other way. Thank you for the video, I learned a lot. Cheers!

Hi Jessica! I have a question about not pre-heating your oven, but just putting your pie in when the oven is cold. If the recipe says to bake the pie shell for 20 mins at 425 F, how long would I bake it for from starting in a cold oven?

Hi Jessica, Just subscribed. I started watching because your cute, but then I became interested in what you were doing. I am digging stumps up around my place and have a lot of red- Tan clay (south Texas) I'm going to try to make some dishes. How long should I let it dry before firing? This will be my first attempt, I have never done anything with clay.

Glad you found me and stuck around long enough to become interested in making pottery yourself! You will want to let you clay dry till it is "bone dry' that will depend on the type of clay, the thickness of the clay and the humidity in your area. For me that means about 3 weeks for things to dry enough to be fired,

I would have started again when the roller didn't imprint properly and could never leave a seam ! Arrgghh I had to stop watching. My OCD is so triggered!!
