The hoaxer Christian writers, who fabricated the resurrection hoax by making up fake testimonials that the disciples have witnessed an empty tomb & a risen Jesus, didn’t know that a sin-sacrifice story implies a superstitious God who values blood-sacrifice, which was common back then - e.g. sacrificing a goat for a new home. *The superstitious early folks who valued blood sacrifice created the God of the Bible in their own image.*

But perhaps in this case this woman will at least take a step in the right direction and quit selling her body for money or if she's just an adulteress, to stop sleeping with married men. Perhaps one weak are can be addressed. But that change can only come about by the power of forgiveness. If she was killed by stoning, there's no chance for change.

It’s a little bit (quite a bit) more than that: This is the BIGGEST “miracle” of all, which is why John 8:1-11 isn’t included or has been avoided in several early manuscripts. There is only ONE OTHER figure in the Bible who writes with His index figure. *Hint: Exodus 31:18 and Deuteronomy 9:10. That’s why the passage is so subversive.

There is nothing wrong with forgiveness. Today's Christianity seems to have forgotten Forgiveness, Mercy and Love. If the movie were made today by SOME "Christians" he would have commanded her to not sin-without consideration of the sinful men who were with her, of course-and mentioned nothing of forgiveness or redemption. We need forgiveness and also to change our ways but we are not getting into heaven because we "earned" it. We have to be forgiven. Those who sneer about how some today forget the 'sin no more' part but who have no Christian Charity in their hearts and only seek to judge are no better. You need both.

But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
