After seeing your first video on this, I was going to suggest to you to make your leader as long as the deepest depth you would want for the area you were fishing. You heard me telepathically apparently.

What if we are fishing 15-20 feet down.

Ironic you talk about setting the depth @12, here in SE LA, there’s a section of ICW by a huge construction company that’s a KEY area for slip cork action @12’. A lot of other people would be trying to fish there and struggle and they see you slaying fish on cork and they are struggling to say the least! Something about that 12’ depth on rocks!

Most people see the rig and think I'm fishing 1 foot down 😂

Probably a dumb question but I’m having trouble with the waves pushing my float... would a quick fix be to just add another split shot? TIA

Mark, do you use a 5in or 7in? Just curious what the major difference in length is.

Why not just fish with mono if you're already at such a long leader line? Also, do you use a baitcaster for your reel on this setup? Any advantage over a spinning reel as that is what most people will end up using? Thanks.

There’s a big difference between 14’ of mono and 200+ yards of braid. Mono is very thick and you can’t spool as much. You also can’t cast it as far as braid. I decided to use spinning because it can cast farther than a baitcaster.
