This Jetty Slip Cork in my opinion is the best and most versatile live shrimp setup to use. You're able to instantly set your depth that you want to fish. If you want to change the depth there's no need to re-tie you can just adjust your bobber stop. You don't need a long rod to cast this setup. You're able to feel the fish when they bite. Your shrimp doesn't tangle with your line during the cast. It's an all around great setup to help you catch more fish easily.

Mark, I have been working non-stop for the past 4 years and haven’t had a chance to touch the water. With the lockdown going on I have 1st, found your channel. Thank You, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos. I really appreciate that it is places I have been or know. I have been watching current and going back to your old stuff. Good Job. 2nd, you have got me wanting to get back out to the water. Been out to the Jetties in Galveston a few times, now got to get back out on the Yaks. Living vicariously through you Sir.

Great video Mark!! I have a suggestion put a swivel on your leader it will help with line twist and wind knots use a swivel on a short leader under the cork maybe put your drop shot on above the swivel so it doesn't get stuck in the cork or use a glass bead you can also rigged it as a tandem rig and I've also fish it like this before with a Sabiki to catch bait. you always have great videos Mark keep them coming who knows one day we may even get to Fish together It's a small world I originally met you fifteen years ago before you ever famous on KZfaq when you were just that Marine I met at Toys R Us. have fun and tight lines.

Another great video. Man I can't wait for next Feb. First time in my 62 years I've been excited about fishing in Feb. PINS has it all. I think you should try some good ball bearing swivels. Cost is a bit much but they are worth it. Will work for "stops" and keeps your line twist free. I had good luck with a similar slip cork but it had "clappers" so with the right bait you are calling out to all their three senses, (scent, sound and sight) Stop by the Brownsville shipping channel near the Brownsville fishing Harbor in Feb. and say hello.

Very well informational and instructional on this set up. Thank you for going so in depth and as far as the problem with the split shot riding up, sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. A small uni to make it stop slipping! Oh yeah, how much frustration did you save everyone with the discussion on leader length! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have you tried wrapping the line once around the split shot when it's open, then closing it (like the line goes around the back portion too)? That's how my dad taught me to use split shots
@watchan1908
@watchan1908 3 жыл бұрын
I got a feeling that the bobber stop might impede the line coming out thru the eyelet smoothly. It probably sacrifice some distance. But, I guess you can only fish as far as you can see your float, in this instance, distance is not relevant.

Instead of the knot at the split shot you could tie a swivel so the bait could spin freely and still stop the split shot.

Hey Mark. Thanks for all of your useful information and tips. As a long time fisherman I was wondering why you don't just use a barrel swivel set up instead of the double knot system that you show? I use a barrel swivel and pretie 20 or 30 pound mono leaders, ready to use for this type of fishing.

reason I like the jetty cork is because it can take a beating on those rocks and still be in good condition. How well does these hold up against those rocks? are they plastic ? any signs of cracking?
@MDLRFishing

It’s balsa wood. Time will tell about how it holds up. I will say this. It rarely comes into contact with the rocks because of how the setup is designed.

@omaraldana4791
@omaraldana4791 5 жыл бұрын
I watched the video 3 times just wondering if for any reason u lose the leader set up u start over tying all the leader again or do u have some pre made Just want to say only because when its windy and night time my rig is a cajun rattler 3 improved clinch knots and I'm done also I never had a problem with the original clinch not ever they are a bit more but they have glass beads top and bottom of the cork which is weighted I tie the main line to top of the wire the beads and cork slip up and down on the wire .tie 6 -7 ft fluorocarbon to a 8 treble hook .This floater is loud in any water I learned this in Venice Louisiana and Matagorda paid guided trips reds and trout go crazy. U should go to the Matagorda pier excellent kayak situations for u and RX .If u dont know about it Google Rawlings bait camp from there a couple of miles 2-3 minute drive speed limit down the same road past the bait camp u will b there and see many spots.No crowds or fishing pressure hidden far a real gem to fish.Camp opens at 6am .I will pay your gas tank to c a video of where I catch fish the honey holes are in front of the rocks between the sand and pier a hidden jetty below the pier it's to the righteous of the pier as u go to the end sow trout u know when its time.U probably dont care for Whiting but they look like 16 inch reds.I leave downtown Houston 4am and in line before 6 to give u a time frame hope u go if u never been .I'm not good with the science of fishing I go when I want never cared about whether I have to say I always catch something there .behind the vamp is an open channel that goes out into open water for the locals on moving tides its wicked hope u get to go if I receive a notification video I will pay your fuel.Honestly .U help people and I feel like fishing is for everyone o dont mind sharing some u knowledge we all cant fish at the same time plenty of fish for all.
