This is one of the main inspirations for my aesthetic. Cave Story’s beta and Amaya-Sans’s early work gives off this nostalgic, de ja vu, anemoia, and surreal feeling. The mysteriousness of the beta also plays a part. I love the atmosphere.

@@cashkromsupernerd1193 come to think about it...Curly isn't here either, and I think I know exactly why is that, being the Beta. As you probably know, Cave Story was thought to be a 2-players game, but...I don't know if you know this, but ORIGINALLY Quote's name was gonna be Quote Curly Brace

This is high quality, looks to be recorded recently. I thought Pixel had the only surviving beta and everything about them has been closely guarded. This looks like a whole game. How and who are you??? I want to believe this is real, but I am so skeptic!

This is cool. Looks like the game had a colder atmosphere with more emphasis on a run and gun play style? I love the slick inventory transition, Cloudrog, some of the more complex looking caves. This looks really cool! Amazing find.

In the other video it's apparent that that beta grasstown or the thicket as it's called in the beta, is after the frog kingdom.

So this is probably the version where the protagonist was called Curly Brace instead of Quote. You can notice because he rescues Sue instead of the Curly Brace of the final version.

Nao_u, The person who uploaded this video is actually the guy who play tested the beta and gave his feedback, so that's how he has the beta. But there's also the possibility that he doesn't have the beta and just has a compilation of beta footage because some of the footage in this video is higher quality GDC footage.
