It seems that Burnaby and Surrey got much more choices of high-rise apartments than Richmond , though Richmond has got many good restaurants !! I hope to stay in Burnaby when I visit Canada next time. Always enjoy watching your videos !!!!

I assume that because Richmond is very close to YVR, so it is quite impossible to build high rises. I also think Burnaby is another good option as well.

I missed the Richmond hk food and the Whistler Blackcomb mountain skiing … it is probably one of the best resort I have seen.
I was looking forward to eating at the curry place! Sad that it doesn't taste that good. Unfortunately, "Japanese" owned restaurants in Vancouver hire most of their kitchen staff and servers on student/holiday visas. Most of them have little to no cooking experience. They come to Vancouver for 1-2 years, work, have fun and leave. That's why if you peek into the kitchen at marihachi, danbo, sura, it's all college students. And not serious chefs. You have to pay way more for more authentic japanese food like Miku. Or go to Korean owned japanese restaurant, the chefs are mostly immigrants that have worked in restaurants for many years before immigrating to canada. You can tell the difference by age and experience instantly when you walk in and all the chefs are shouting to each other in Korean. My favourite korean owned is green leaf and tokyo in april. Some of the Chinese owned ones are ok as well (my go-to is Chinese owned and the chefs have been the same for 5-10 years), but korean ones are the most consistent and affordable. I always set your expectation low when going to an authentic japanese restaurant now.

One of the downsides of living in Vancouver is the lack of affordable authentic Japanese food ;(
