Holy cow was this a packed routine. 5 tumbling runs and she still managed to pack in so much choreo. How did she find time to breathe?!

This was a stunning routine - she actually had choreography and a lovely dance, unlike some. (ahem, Shawn...) And look at that 2.5 twist! Her legs were absolutely glued together, not crossed in the slightest! She was often quite underscored on floor, which is a shame. Such charisma.

@MrGemini1983 The front tuck is worth .1, the double twist worth .3. Under the 2004-2008 Code of Points, there was no limit on tumbling passes. Gymnasts who couldn't do some of the harder dance moves consistently or who just wanted to add a little difficulty would throw extra C skills (back double twist, front full/1.5 twist). In this case, Jiang does it out of a front tuck because one of the requirements is to have both backward and forward tumbling; it was her only front skill.

Damn I don't know why the chinese team did not send her to London. I went to see the team qualifications on the Sunday and I can tell you, I missed her. The team somehow didn't get it together for 2012. The could have done with her experience in competition, badly. Still love China though ;)
@mht49084 жыл бұрын
She wasn't as strong in the 2009-2012 quad. During the 2011 Worlds, she was only used on vault during the team final and did not make any event finals. As much as I wanted her to be in London, I could understand why they put her as first alternate, because at that time, Yao Jinnan and Huang Qiushuang were the dominant all arounders in the team, Deng Linlin and Sui Lu were more of beam specialists, and He Kexin's bars are almost garanteed a medal if she hits. Too bad Yao got injured and Huang and Deng crumbled under the pressure

@happystuff12345 You're totally right! I mean her choreography is so true to her Chinese culture, and her skills a great - I would imagine she would get the bonus today for good choreography, but it's not all about the the "beauty" because they're still being judged therefore will get a score reflecting on how she executed the routine - it's her A - score that would pull her up further. And as for Nastia, yes, she does have "leg crossovers" but the judges take in to account the difficulty.

@KseniaSemenovaFan For great gymnastics coaches, they can tell when girls are not even teens who will be the best. That happened with Cui Jie. She was a great junior, but the coaches didn't trust how puberty could treat her. I'm not claiming anything, and we won't know unless she pulls a Dong Fanxiao and writes about it on her blog.

Asian people look smaller and don't grow as rapidly as people of other races. Even though I am in my mid-teens now, I could still pass as a 12/13 year old (It's not that I look young, it's that others look older.)
@KVHolland313 жыл бұрын
@MrGemini1983 Well in the new code I'm pretty sure that would't be counted as a pass but I'm pretty sure this old code had no limit to the amount of tumbling you could have...

@Sweetcleopatraa I love her routine too! I am just sick of people keep on going back to the age controversy. It has been cleared by officials, whether you believe it or not it is a done deal, not much else to discuss about it lol.
@Degrasman_Maddog12 жыл бұрын
@OMGITSJULIA Please it can say it been cleared but I will never believe that He Kexin was old enough to be completeting because she looks like a 12 or 13 year old. Now as forJiang Yuyuan I beleive her age of 16.

@willsbob123 your score would be correct if this routine was in 2009. the judges were a lot less strict, or not as strict as they should have been, in 2008

To the China hater ShawnVika... It seems you love to bash Chinese gymnasts. Let me tell you this: If you go to Jiang Yuyuan's site, a site her friends and fans did for her, there are a lot of birthday wishes for her this month, Jiang turned 20 on Nov. 1, 2011! Of course, you wouldn't believe because you DON'T WANT to believe it! According to your logic, there are tons of Americans who took drugs in worlds and olympics, so all American athlets should be questioned?
