Just my opinion, little Shawn's beam routines looked like she was doing them on a floor.

Whoops. I inadvertently watched her AA routine twice thinking it was her EF one and wondering how she didn't get on the podium 🤦‍♂️. Silly me. I do feel that leo suited the routine so much more. It sounds silly, but a more colorful leotard for the Final may have helped her performance. This was tragic. Bless. And Elfi definitely is mirroring my thoughts at the end: "the bounciness. moving from one move to the other without really finishing the prior one." It just comes across as unpolished, not rehearsed, and lacking purpose for me. She also gives the energy of an aerobics instructor.

In a sport as subjectively scored as gymnastics, there should NEVER be a tie breaker. What a complete joke in the sport for there to be one.

What really annoyed me to this day is, when they started playing 'background' music for the audience, whenever no Floor Exercise was performed. It almost hits you after this artistic routine of the great Anna Pavlova (even though she had her difficulties especially at the end), when she finished her exercise and you were still in the afterglow... the last tone not quite finished and immediately you get smacked with this 'background' disaster --- from1:35 onwards.... You couldn't even hear the audience applaud properly.... that's so sad!

Unfortunately, as clean as this routine was it had a couple of missed connections that made a medal impossible. Much like Ana Pavlova, a lowered start value made the difference.

2023 and I still don’t understand how scored higher than the quals , I love her and I know was not her fault but was not fair at all :( Pavlova deserved at least this medal.

She was solid thruout the Olympics. Totally kicked ass.

Honestly, watching this routine back I can see how she beat Pavlova. She had one major balance check, and maybe 2 or 3 minor ones and a step on landing. Pavlova missed a skill and had some minor checks. I feel their scores would be close and could go either way. Honestly could make a case for both being slightly overscored, especially considering their QF scores.

SHE TOTALLY GOT LUCKY (and I'm defining luck by her peaking at the right time and having Cheng Fei fall)... Nastia had gone out of bounds several times earlier in 2008 and even fell on her double front.... She hit ALL 4 floor routines and had Cheng not fallen, or had she gone out of bounds, she would have been 4th or 5th... FYI I WAS SOOOOOOOO HAPPY SHE MEDALLED... Izbasa had some artistry, and shawn's choreography was meh... her ending pose on floor reminded me of a seal at Sea World that leans on its side and blows a kiss to the crowd... AND YES THIS CODE WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! 10 skills?????? It's like the FIG didn't think it through (oh CUZ THEY NEVER DO).... All these girls on floor must have been EXHAUSTED and the choreography is really an after-thought..... THIS FLOOR ROUTINE WAS MAGIC, POETRY, ARTISTRY, HEAVEN, ETC...... MY HEART NEARLY BURST WHEN SHE DID THE 1 & 1/2 TO RUDI CUZ I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO GO OUT OF BOUNDS!!!!!!! PAVLOVA AND NASTIA KEPT THE SOUL OF ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS ALIVE AT THESE GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!
