I'm laughing because, as a novice, every time I believe I'm wrapping my head around linocut along comes Holly and shows me something else! I've been battling with multi-colour reduction cuts recently (massive tear rate) so my reaction to the first half minute of this video was _"Whaaaat....?"_ 😂 (P.S. I totally love Handprinted and buy all my supplies there. Faultless customer service. 👍)

Ii rarely comment on videos but I really appreciate this video! I have been doing Japanese wood block printing since 2018 and have been giving linocut printing a go. WIth wood cuts, I always printed in a single color. I wanted to be able to color block and this really gave me a good idea of the jigsaw technique. I figured lino would be less time consuming than wood block carving and while its similar, it can be more nuanced! Wood has a certain pushback of pressure when carving but the lino materal is so delicate that you have to be extra careful. This helped me a alot! ready to try out multiple colors now! thank you!!!

Another lovely video thank Holly. A question, when I've used a Sharpie to mark my design (on silk cut grey lino) I've had problems with it transferring to my print. I use Caligo Safe Wash. Have you had this problem?

So lovely! I'm just beginning to play with using lino reliefs (not sure if this is the term) for use on fabrics. Is there a similar concept that can be used for this? Thanks!

What about using scissors to cut out the shape before separating it with a scalpel?

Can you use the basic grey Lino?
