As someone who worked at Wendy's when the transition happened, I'm surprised at how good at Corny was able to tell that they changed the oil. They did actually changed the oil to some soy/cotton oil blend at the time. Also I was bummed out they also changed the meat type as well. Working at that time and hearing all the complaints was hell but I felt how those people felt.

I like Rallys/Checkers fries. They are $1 for a large right now too.

Corny's sounds like a great place to work. You get to give the customers s*** that they usually give you, kids would be banned from eating at that restaurant since Jim Cornette doesn't like children, so you wouldn't have to deal with loud, crying, annoying toddlers throwing food everywhere, and I think Jim would be in favor of paying all employees a livable wage. Wendy's makes my favorite fast food burger (by far), but the fries are incredibly sub par (and always were even before the recipe change IMHO) Though as a midwest guy, I am partial to Steak N' Shake (though I consider them half a step up from "fast food")

Just had Hardee's fries. 10-20% of them were soggy and it appears that the reason is a lack of potato inside so the oil gets soaked up and remains. To me, Wendy's fries are far too often overcooked and even more inedible. Worst fries in my opinion is from Penn Station. Far too often 50-60% were overcooked. I just started bringing in my own potato chips and stopped eating their fries and I haven't regretted that decision.

Honestly, the best fast food fry of recent memory was Taco Bell's fries. Very sad they got discontinued.

Culvers is my favorite burger place niw. Amazing burgers(with red onions, take notes In-n-Out), good crinkle cut fries, fried cheese curds and great shakes/ice cream. In-n-Out are good but I wish they had red onion and better fries. Same for Whataburger. Carl's Jr is great but a bit too pricey imo. 5 guys, Shake Shack and Steak n Shake are good. We have a great local joint called Lennys, they have the best fries. Thick, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and they have a special seasoning blend. But most of all I miss the Heart attack grill, hate that its only in Vegas now. Amazing food and a unique experience.

Being in Louisiana territory, I'm sure Corny is familiar with Whataburger. Better than any of the three mentioned!

In the last year or so, I found a place called Culver's. It's really good, but for me it's always been Wendy's for burgers and nuggets, not fries. If I wanted fries, I'd go to McDonald's.
