They've somehow managed to book the same match on every show for the last close to 5 years and Tony thinks it's great booking. I'd never heard of Okada, or Kenny Omega until I started to see everyone talking about their 6 star match in New Japan. I decided to seek the match out, see what all the fuss was about. I went in eager to enjoy it, with no preconceived notions. I didn't get it. It was...good, but it was too long and didn't draw me in. I've been unimpressed by everything I've seen from Okada since. He reminded me of Sting, minus the energy and charisma.

The "Rainmaker" is one of the most unexciting and anticlimactic finishes ever. It's just "blah, allotted time's up, match over, where's my cheque, gaijin?" The regular part of the Dax match might as well have just ended with a wet fart sound. They finally got a little bit of an reaction from the audience and... Forrest Gump came in his boxers. AEW turned finishing moves into transitional ones that nobody sells properly, for five years - now one of their newest "big gets" and "game changers" wins with an almost random mid-match move like a short-arm clothesline. And not even one that looks particularly good. Even Moxley could make that look better - and that's really saying something! Samoa Joe needs to show Okody how to do it right, as long as he's still there! They have a potential rising star like Takeshita and make him Callis' dumb flunky - but they push a bored bank clerk who performs like he's at a timeshare presentation.

Maybe this company-wide heel takeover would get more heat if it, you know, had consequences? The guys that joined Kenny's team are the only ones who give a damn that the boss has been replaced. Sure, The Elite have it out for Swerve, but for the most part, people are going about their lives, like this is just another stable. Everyone gets to have their usual matches except for the people who are feuding with the Bucks.

All their titles are so meaningless. None of their men's champions have been reigning longer than since March. Half their titles are on job guys that no one cares about. Toni Storm is their longest reigning champion.

Obviously you gotta work different in different places, but in Japan Okada got over as a heel because he sold the idea that he was barely trying, and laziness or not caring over there is like the absolute most dislikable quality a person could have. That's actually also how Naito became a popular babyface by doing the same thing but in a more aggressive way that got him over as a guy who was the anti-hero you could get behind, as opposed to Okada who was not only lazy but not aggressive about it either
