When I become a father is when I finally realized the reason my father and I didnt get along was that he was an asehole towards me my whole life. I couldn't really see it until I had my own relationship with my own son for comparison but I came to realize that man just didnt like me. However, my son and I have a great relationship. We hang out together and do things like best friends do. He has gown into a bright and creative young adult who I couldn't be more proud of. I admire him and even seek out his advice at times. My father seemed to resent me growing past age 5. He never wanted me to do anything but be in awe of him and he resented it when I wasnt.

I was wondering why I’m seeing so much Gaffigan everywhere lately, and then it dawned on me. He better sell a lot of bourbon and make a bunch of specials if he’s putting 5 kids through college in the next decade.

6:00 If this was the block party, I would be hangin' with you guys... Hitting me with those MMM? eyes, I would break out the beer bong! We could have a real BS night! Beer,shot,beer,shot... I prefer to drink the beer from a shot glass (so there is not as much volume when you barf) and eat salsa/chips to add color (for when you barf). This takes place in the secret garage dad meeting area. I once designed a pipe/hooka for those moments. It used a 6" stainless funnel wedged into the top of a stainless "P" trap (like under the bathroom sink that gets clogged all the time). I would fabricate a wooden adapter for the fun/trap that would go into the intake hole on my shop vac. I would remove the filter and hose from the vac, put an oz of weed into the funnel, lined with stainless screen, of course, and set it a-fire. Turn on the vac when the weed is lit, and you should get a pretty good cloud. Keep adding weed as desired. Weed was $40 an oz then... I am a 1955 human.

@@iluvdissheet its mostly the "kids are tough, right? lets solve it by drinking. regularly." subtext. everyone may do whatever they want. i don't care too much. but as soon as it starts to impact others, especially protégées, it is getting fishy. i am not saying, that everyone who is drinking automatically becomes an alcoholic, drinking to solve ones problems is a really good way to start though. therefore i say portraying alcohol as a harmless drug to take the edge off is not cool. in contrast, i do like daytime drinking with seth and i do think it is less problematic due to a different premise.
