♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even samples excerpts from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe he could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to be able to go out & enjoy himself, as well as being with someone, or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party as well. Which is why he even said during his dream state, please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe that was what all the dirty grimyness also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

At first I was totally enchanted by the vocals and the atmosphere (I'm 71, so the 80-90s are mine). From the first time I felt the sense of longing, disappointment, and a multi-focal kind of sadness that was passed on to us. Listening to this song again, I just cry, tears come to my eyes, everything I hear and see captivates me and at the same time fills me with terrifying sadness. I think each of us will go through a phase of life and feelings that Jimin gives us.

This was 💯 sultry 80s vibe! I’d recognize that sound anywhere!!! (note the signature 80s mullet) but Jimin put his special ‘stamp’ on it! This brings back old memories! He makes me want to go back to that era and experience it all over again! Another masterpiece! Beautiful, haunting, sexy, honey sweet, Angel voice!!!! He’s all grown up!!! He’s extraordinary! I didn’t get a happy vibe…it was emotionally sad/painful for me. And there’s a reason why SMFP2 is last in the album - it’s final - he is finally set free. The songs leading up to that tell a story of his ‘angst’ ***This whole album is just incredible!!! Phenomenal!!!

These songs came about due to the way he was feeling during Covid. He's lonely and wants to get out. I think the mud reference being stuck. He's pulled into the club to have a good time,but I feel he's intoxicated by something that may help with being lonely. He doesn't want the sun to come up because he knows it will end. I think the girl represents ARMY. Jimin loves and misses his fans, so he's looking for them, trying to meet them in person. The more i watched it while streaming the more i noticed the details. If you look closely in one of scenes from the start, someone with hand hold his hand and pulls him, the girl in the mv is his feminine side. As he said this album is about his emotions that he felt in lockdown, i feel like this song is about his feminine side trying to pull him towards it but he is doing his best to not let that happen. In the mv there's a scene where the room is full of mud but in a second its all gone but his hands are still covered in it. I think that represents the fact that doesn't matter how much he tries to ignore his other sides, they will still be on him. There will be a mark on him. The girl and jimin never meets because you never meet your reflection. (English aint my first language i'm sorry if there are mistakes)

It's quite a dark song despite the upbeat nature of the music. I think to really understand set me free pt 2 and like crazy you need the rest of the album and Jimin knew that, it's a perfectly told story. I knew i was missing a piece with set me free but when i heard the whole album and read the lyrics though it all became very clear.

If you listen to the whole album in order it seems to tell a story for me, angry to crazy to sad to fighting back to calm again, if you add in hidden track Letters. There are two remixes coming out too so that is exciting. The vocals are amazing.💜

There are a lot of far-out interpretations of the music video and dance practice-which are fine, we all find and identify things in art that relate to our story- however a lot of people like painting their interpretations as fact (I suppose in in an effort to find like minded people?) and this is fundamentally wrong, especially when it ignores everything the artist has stated. This song is written about the feelings of separation and lethargy he felt during the pandemic, from friends, family and his work/ARMY. („I‘d rather be lost in the lights(on stage“) „I feel so alive (full of energy)/wasting time“. On top of it, a further inspiration for the song, is the film like crazy, about a long distance relationship, two people who want to be together, but can‘t, which again ties in beautifully with his feelings of wanting to be with ARMY. This is why the girl in the mv and he never meet, never interact. He‘s desperately holding onto her ghost (which is how Jimin held on during the pandemic-by watching concerts with ARMY-). He stated during a spotify interview that the dream he doesn‘t want to wake up from is BTS. Even the excerpts from the film are the feelings and words of BTS/ARMY „I‘m afraid it‘ll all fall apart/just trust me“. Yes, it has sensual undertones, and plenty of double entendres, but let‘s please stop repeating someone else’s interpretation as the actual artistic intention. It’s disrespectful.

i did the same with the shirt. but what was interesting is that all jimin is wearing is marked as unisex items. so for both men and woman. i think this song and mv is a reflection of himself in different ways. like his sexual orientation and his broken heart and alcohol issues. it might be all of those things because we know BTS never put anything unintentional into the mv. but based on how kpop fans are no wonder he can´t be completely open about it. just a theory thoguht
