Question: What is the "pentatonic" aspect of it?

Is a Mix, of 2 pentatonics, Cm and the Tritone F#m, and some times Cm And Dm,
@Jimindorothy

I will make a video about this! But here is brief explanation. In Cm we can play Dorian scale and in C dorian scale we can find three pentatonic scales which are - Bb Eb F so when you play those three pentatonic scale, it sounds like you are playing Inside of Cm. But if you play other than those three pentatonics it will sounds like you are playing outside of the chord changes. So in this video , for example when you analyze number 1, you see the first measure is Eb pentatonic and second measure A penta, and F pentatonics to Eb pentatonic. So just to put A pentatonic scale in the middle, since it is outside of the chord, it will be sounds unexpected and cool. Hope this helped!!!

This video is a very good example for making perfect 4th melody lines from pentatocic scales. 이거 정말 중요한 연습인데 학교에서 잘 안가르쳐주죠. 좋은 채널입니다. 구독합니다. 앞으로도 좋은 영상 많이 올려주세요.^^

I hope you see this comment. I think your the most beautiful and talented pianist on the internet. I'm a harpist myself who does alot of pentatonic grooves, and I've done so many of these riffs in my performances. I just want you to know that you have a huge fan in Canada. Love you so much. Great vid! Just a question: would you be able to add the notation of what you're playing in the left hand too? Or would it be too much work. Your voicings are pretty hip. Keep it up!

P sure they're 4th voicings (root, 4th, minor 7th, which can function as min 7 or, as in Barry Harris 6th diminished scale, the V9) but starting with an 8ve pedal, ergo the subtitle "McCoy Tyner solo style." Think he used P5s as the pedal a lot too. Hope that helps ^w^

Ni Hao! This is is the best-lesson abou this subject, Why? the theory is already clear for me...the note's make shure everybody can learn them very fast...people that teach while explaining what they do, is not that effective...This is realy the "Dao" because you play it also with the flavour that is needed...I love your approach.. I did practice the "All the things you are" voice lead i get it now, and I have to work a lot to make it realy happen but the way I approach it to understand: MajorTriads of I+V create together a Major 9 sound the moment we alter our m7 maj7 or Dom 7 creates enormous space this space we can fill with those voice leads the top not is for instance a meldie tone from the Theme or during an improvisation...because I practiced and experimented like when pentatonic is the way to alterate for instance: the moment we stay in we have 2 or 3 scales and when we go out we have at least another few options...so for instance : Fm7 first look for the major 9 that is of course Abmajor9 is hidden Bbm7=Dbmajor7 Eb7=inside Ab major7(modal-Tonic approach) but outside: Fmaj for instance(Phrygian) or C triad or B Triad(is bebop dominant) in the altered scale is the VI## th step Cmajor (or bVI seen from Emelodic minor) so Fmaj7 Ftriad + C-Triad makes Fmajor9 or C + G(b5actually 5 will give the bebop majr7 on a dominant)Triad so Bbmajor7 gives us 12+5 #9 also Gbmajor would be an option: Gb major Triad + Dbmajor(half hole scale) or ATraid major and EbTriad to make a long story short: I see the possibilitie's it is just to look and to experiment my self to find a fitting match!!! is always the best! Jazz means experimenting till we are blue green and Purple!!!yesterday I played two voices bIII Right hand left hand Tonic and than Minor major arpeggio's also left hand Halfdiminished right hand major seven and vife tone each hand all Keys Ebminor and Bbminor where extremely hard for the hands, I tried also Chick Corea trick: one melodie pentatonic for instance work song(F minor other hand Dminor or even Tritone away...also with a lick to try to immideately play it Poly Tonal!!!!I am going to study this 20 Monster Lick and going to let them walk on a leash!!!(by writing them out sweating them out and learning them by heart the Left hand of you I liked especially that is the key I think to let it sound that Good!!!Thank You very Much and Thank you again for doing the lesson in english! Those practices Left hand is essential for the sound Octave bass first beat and the 3- 3-2 or groupings on the 4 6accents total Important for Nice McCoy sound! Because you play a continuum this is extremely powerfull the bass's become...The speed, very good..I am going to write them out tomorrow! and make them practice routine but I am able to improvise because I understand the ingredients..

@@Sepharite kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n6txorilsZjcl2w.html Old m8 Tynesy uses it over pretty much this entire solo. Check out what he's doing with his left hand, the structures are mostly all in fourth intervals which works real well with shredding pentatonic crap in your right hand. Dat be yer quartal harmony right der. Pretty popular move is shifting your left hand quartz up and down a semi tone to get that wild 'outside the box' kinda sound. Real crunchy and modern in my opinion
