Jimmy, you and Captain "the Mr. 777" Benham, that I'd already saw in your interview where he described the dire straight he was in, flying to Honolulu. Two of my favorites together at last. It’s awesome to watch a web like this (Jimmy, Juan, Rebuild Rescue etc.) build itself to everyone’s benefit.

The 'B' models were also were a bit louder without the extended exhaust augmenters and single pane rear windows, and did not preform as well as the C and D models on takeoff, especially on high density altitude takeoffs.Also, I suggest making sure the front seat stops are in place. I recall pilot's seat sliding off the rails once on just after lifting off and an ATP friend of my father's whom he let fly ended up next to me in the back seat. He held on to the yoke as he slid back, did a severe pitch-up and left bank nearly stalling before my dad in the right recovered it.

This reminds me of the time that Doyle L. McCormack (Chief Engineer of the Southern Pacific Daylight 4449) and Ed Dickens Jr. (Union Pacific Railroad Steam and Heritage Program Manager) got together at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center (ORHC) in Portland, Oregon recently! Two legends of the rails!

I imagine in your firefighting career, you flew the 310 birddogging. It was the go-to aircraft for the faster bombers in the old days such as the A26. I used to love looking up through the smoke at them coming overtop the fire at 300 ft with their siren on, leading in the first drops.

Hey, nostalgic, but I was six years old when this airplane was "out there". I flew the C310C, but took my ME check ride in a sick C310N....low compression on a few cylinders. SE performance squeaked me by, but later, it was sold as was. Back to the C310C.....washed and waxed it for "free time". Owned by a crop duster. My CFIME was a former crop duster, but took me "under his wing" to help. Then, both of us ferried the C310N back to F52. And, anyway, the rest is history. I love the 310. For nostalgia. I've flown 320, the Riley Rocket conversion. I did not fly the 400 series. Was hired to fly the DC3 and CV440. Another story. All good! Thank you, Blanco....I agree with Jimmy.....great to hang out with ya, albeit via YT. Also for jpaul, I can't wait!

Jimmy. Hope he makes it..Jimmy is always joking and clowning around but he serious and knows his planes parts and maintenance. He won't risk it unless he is absolutely sure everything is fine

Good to see Juan giving Jimmy some grief lol He now needs to change his stickers and logos to "Save A 310" Would hate to see him give up totally on the original 310 but the way he is gathering the bits and pieces he may not have to. In an ideal world the VA or some large corp would sponsor him for fuel and maintenance costs so its not costing him a fortune to do Angel flights and Veteran medical flights. On another note its funny to see KZfaqrs possibly intersect. A couple with a sailing channel recently flew to a catamaran builders factory in Vietnam and of course they flew on a 777. Made any trips to Ho Chi Min lately Mr Brown?

If you ever take a trip to Fallon Nevada, there is a 310 on display at a home near the airport. it is a fantastic piece of yard art.

This plane is my favourite among all of Jimmys airplanes.

I'm reminded of a line from that great WWII submarine movie Operation Petticoat: "I am a religious man Captain, I believe we'll get through if the Good Lord puts His mind to it. Of course, He'll have to give us His undivided attention."

As I was watching I noticed what could have been a 172 behind you guys. My wife was flying hers that day with the man getting hours for a commercial ticket. She is out today again with him.

I flew a Cessna U3A for a little bit. The Air Force manual was about 5 times thicker than the civilian manual.
