Ukrainian progressive metal band #JINJER literally rewrote the classic Bible story of Noah's ark for the song "Noah" on their latest record, "MACRO." In the brutally reimagined version of the hallowed parable, vocalist Tatiana Shmailyuk imagines an alternate ending in which the Ark turns upside down, floods, and ends all life on planet Earth. It may be grim, and it's certainly sacrilegious, but it's definitely the most #metal thing we've heard in a very long time.
In this #APTV exclusive, JINJER debunk several misconceptions people have about their band and furiously dig into the idea of the "cover song," explaining why playing other people's music will eventually stop you from writing your own. JINJER also reflect on their meager beginnings and reveal the thing they have in common with the legendary actor #KeanuReeves.

Well, that's one of the worst music questions to be asked. You forgot to ask that back in about 10,000 BC when the first caveman started whistling a tune the other caveman made up. The other caveman said "Hey Og, why are you biting my song you dick!" And the fist caveman said "'Because Ug, I dig it!", and so Og said "Oh. ok. Cool! But, uh, if I catch you whistling that to Ooogy, you'll have to give me 2 lbs of bronto meat." Then Og said, "Can I add a verse, then whistle it down by the water hole, and charge everyone 3 lbs of bronto meat for attending, and give you 2 and I keep 1? The babes will love it!" Ug said "Hell ya!" And the first song writer, arranger, producer, grou...., er fans, and rock star were born. So try to pick some other more meaningful question. Covering someone else's music is elementary to being a musician. It's used for musical training, inspiration, paying respect, fun, education, admiration, and even making a living. Always has, always will.

Exactly! Or on the opposite end - tribute bands. When it's done well there's something cool about watching fellow musicians pull off a solid tribute. Sort of the ultimate cover band. As the word implies, the accolades belong to the original artists who's music we all love and adore! I have a couple friends in tributes, and the original artists personally endorse their acts, and who don't/can't tour anymore and are glad their music lives on in a live forum like that!

So, Tatiana reveals for the first time that she doesn't do Fry Screams, contrarily to Mary Z's analysis, that they're the easiest to do and either way, she wouldn't know how to do them. The way she said it seemed like she does something that works but it's neither Fry or Growl. I wonder if in her "ignorance" she ended up developping something that's not in the books and only she can do. Hmm...interesting. We need more info on this. : ) One of the most common misconceptions is that Tatiana's screams are produced by some sort of digital gadget that only the haters know about. Another misconception I've seen commented a few times on their videos is that they're a corporate manufactured band, created like the pop boybands and girlbands of the 90's. I tell those people that Tatiana was in the band before any of the guys and so far none of the haters replied back. >: )

As a female, I've always disliked that Jinjer was labeled as a "female fronted band" or a "hot chick singer of a metal band". "They're a really great fucking band and my favorite metal band that's come out in....shit...I dont even know how long. Years and years. The lyrics are👌🏼 the vocals are super dynamic and powerful and moving. The Bassist is a fucking beast & complex. The gutairs r beautiful, strong and the drums are insane and perfect. Multi-dimensional. " That's what I say-or some variation of that. As a "pretty girl" I've had to fight so hard to be seen and anything other than just "hot" in groups/communities that are male dominated like skating and metal shop & in hard rock/ death(etc.) metal bands when I was younger & music in adulthood and my career as a chef. To be seen for your talent when you look like Tati is a double edged sword. Thanks for reading my rant. 🤘🏻 One love y'all. ✌🏼

I love to hear Eugene and Tati; could listen to them all day, but how come Vlad and Roman never get to talk? I've heard them on some gear run-thrus, but would love to hear them answer some regular band questions... Rock on Jinjer! You're the best!

Honestly, it's kind of a compliment to Jinjer. People are so gob-smacked by Tati's talent that they have a hard time believing it, like how some folks can't believe people made the great pyramid of Giza or stone-henge, so it must be aliens :D

I'm agree with this (like Eugene said) but I will very happy if I hear Jinjer doing a Pantera's cover, maybe they can do just for fun, not official. but nothing compare with the awesome songs Jinjer can do. If they do covers , It is not to reach new fans but just doing something cool for their already fans

YES! they are great! One been listening to them for about for years now, I think. And I was always so upset that they weren't bigger and more well known. I told everybody about them, and they all instantly fell in love such as I. Being a female metal vocalist is difficult because everyone is so quick to put women down, and try to say that they're not heavy enough. I say fuck that noise! Some Women are a LOT heavier than some men. I wanted to help change that. Tati doing an amazing job! Show them who's boss girlie! ♡

Chris P Bacon When artists visit our office, we take them on a tour of our production offices to meet the staff and then they’re allowed to take whatever they want. Vlad took a few back issues and, in humble gratitude, took the Jinjer pin he had pinned to his bag and gave it to me as a thank you. It was such a profoundly pleasant gesture that it left a major impression on all of the staff. All of Jinjer were so pleasant and respectful and definitely not robots. 🤖 🤘 Long Live Jinjer!! 🤘

About cover, I agree with Eugene and say more, I believe it is sad, is a limitation for a musician, a limitation of talent and art, the singer or musician studies music or singing for 5 or 10 years, is dedicated to body and soul to limit your musical talents to just making covers, for example, to me it's like you're a composer that plages because you can't write your own songs, that's kind of the way I see it. If you try to present your copyrighted songs to the public, they wil´t be interested because you will always be remembered as the cover musician, someone who just covers.

Not sexy??!!! I actually found her more attractive back then. Natural beauty. How long was it, like 2-3-4? Years ago when most of the people who listened to their music and watched the clips complained about her loosing her dreadlocks. Yes I'm one of those people who loved that look on her. 2: pieces. Yes this song has a great shock value... But why? Switch switch switch.. OK we're great
