I think it’s strange when celebrities try to make it like they’re “regular” people, but as far as the rude thing goes….MANY people are rude out here. Full of hate and negativity so that little narrative people are trying to paint of singling her out is not funny at all when it comes to that. I work in Corporate and the way MOST Caucasian people act in corporate is disturbing and no different than Jlo. People are just mad because they’re not on her level and WILL never see or experience the kind of money she has to validate their arrogance like her. This is what I’m seeing from this the more people talk about her.

It's truly unfortunate, but Jennifer Lopez's singing abilities are merely average. While she's certainly not a terrible vocalist, she falls short of greatness. Instead of honing her own talents and vocal skills, she opted to borrow from other artists, taking the easier path. Now that her stardom is waning, she's scrambling to do whatever it takes to cling to relevance. Perhaps it's best if she focuses on her acting career.

As a Mexican, i never understood why JLo is considered to be a Latin American icon. She isn't. In fact, JLo doesn't have a single song that has topped the Mexico Top 100. Plus, there's many Latina artists that are way popular than her like Shakira, Paulina Rubio, Thalía, Selena Quintanilla, etc.
@xBINARYGODx
@xBINARYGODx Ай бұрын
Madonna, a rather white Italian girl from the American midwest, has way more latin cred. Dear J-Lo, how does that feel? You can hide behind the "well thats madonna" but like, part of why is she is "madonna" is releasing spanish-only version of her records and many of her hits otherwise - you know, to build a fanbase in the ultra large spanish speaking world. Anyway, J-Lo is latin in the American sense, not the really the latin sense.
@TheJosman

@@xBINARYGODx Heck, i even dare say that the whole scandal of Pope John Paul II excommunicating Madonna from the Catholic Church after releasing her "Like a Prayer" music video where she's having s*x with a black Jesus had more cultural impact here in Mexico than JLo's entire career. My mom is a 70s child. She and all of her friends dressed up lile Madonna and Whitney Houston in their teenage years during the 80s.

Ya know, Madonna was never shy to admit she didn't have the best voice, but she worked to expand the hell out of it. Sure, it was for the Evita film in the mid-to-late 90's after she was already a super star and she needed more range for that project she worked hard to get, but like - what is stopping J-Lo from doing that? Get that same vocal coach and work it out. Katy Perry too did not have the best voice, but clearly worked on, as her stardom grew, she improved. Now, are any of these people Whitney? No - but like, no one is Whitney. But the difference, of course, is that Katy and Madonna especially, had something more to grab onto, so a merely good voice was fine, but also, they worked to noticeably improve. Again, why is J-Lo above this? Is she really that clueless? I guess Tone-Deaf is the proper word, and it works on many levels for her. That motown story is.... yikes.

what's crazy is JLO actually has an incredibly impressive array of hits (albeit written by others) and commercial success in both music and film... yet seems to have ZERO impact on culture at large. No one has ever listed JLO as an influence. EVER. People list Janet, Madonna, Britney, Gaga, Beyoncé as influence all the time but never JLO. I feel like what Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson are to Britney Spears, JLO is to Beyoncé. Yet, somehow she's managed to maintain mainstream relevance much longer.

@@letBIGGIErest PR. People confuse hype with relevance. J.lo goes to the opening of an envelope. She's not even nominated for anything, but it gets her seen and heard. The only way she get talked about now is if she dates other celebrities. None of her music or movies have sold in the past decade. She just keeps her name in the press and clings to endorsement deals she gets from hype, which are drying up. That's why she's doing all of this. She's not worth that much, but that's another story, and more hype.

What I got from the documentary is that JLo just takes herself WAY too seriously, and it backfired. It's only caused people to re-examine her career, instead adding anything new to it. And I get that she's an artist, and felt driven to tell this story about love in her life, but I also think she's just out of touch with reality to think that it's some groundbreaking film.

When I read about how JLo wouldn’t acknowledge the Flight Attendant that asked her if she would like a beverage, and addressed her personal assistant sitting right beside her instead, well, that action speaks volumes! If one feels they are too busy, famous, important, rich, etc, to answer a “civilian person” in REAL TIME y’all, then that person’s not down to earth or relatable; that person has their head up in the clouds and has long forgot their basic roots. In summation, it is possible to be Uber rich and remain down to earth, humble, and relatable. Johnny Depp is one such person. His actions prove that he’s genuine. JLo's antics to conceal her lack of talent are no longer effective. Without a doubt, she is the Female Milli Vanilli. To make her record decent, JLo had to use demo vocals from Ashanti, Brandy, Christina Milian, Natasha Ramos, Chante Moore, Makeba Riddick, Shawnyette Harrell, Y’Anna Crawley & other female artists she took advantage of.

She’s been chasing the praise she got for Selena. The problem is, it was too long ago. I’m an elder millennial (almost 40) and even I’m too young for the Selena era.

Ehhh not acting I’ll say Jlo takes that. Beyoncé just isn’t a great actress she’s good but not great But dancing and singing Beyoncé takes it.

I would also like to mention her tribute to Celia Cruz was not that great either, like it was fun and exiting but that's because it was Celias music, her boice was weird and he choreo even weirder like it was too stiff for salsa, it seems like she hired ball room salsa dancers instead of real salsa dancers, both are very different but it seems she doesn't kno the difference

Her stint on American Idol almost made her appear human but....she just can't help herself. She's determined to make herself appear demi-god but its such a hard pill to swallow for everyone outside her core fanbase. If you're not drinking the J-Lo Kool-Aid, her brand of celebrity feels so out of touch with 2024. It feels....forced.

I don't understand why JLo has this need to be relatable. She just needs to embrace who she is, a diva who thinks she's better than everyone. And she needs to stop talking about the Bronx. The Bronx don't claim her and they don't f*ck with her.
