1. 〜てみる
[意味] Try out ~
[接続] V（て形）+ みる
* おいしいかどうか食べてみます。
　　I will try it to see if it tastes good.
* この服、サイズが合うか着てみます。
　　I will try on these clothes to see if they fit.
* 日本に来たら、何をしてみたいですか？
　　What would you like to do when you come to Japan?
2. 〜ても
[意味] even if
[接続] V（て形） + も イA + くても なA + でも N + でも
* このイベントは、雨がふっても あります。
　　This event will be held even if it rains.
* 山田さんみたいな天才だったら、勉強しなくても東大に受かるね！ If you are a genius like Mr. Yamada, you can get into the University of Tokyo without studying!
* 佐藤さんは どんなに寒くても、コートを着ません。
　 Mr. Sato doesn't wear a coat no matter how cold it is.
* 部屋がきれいでも、毎日そうじをします。
I cleans my room every day, no matter how clean it is.
* この美術館では学生でも大人料金を払います。学生割引料金はありません。
In this museum, even students pay adult prices. There is no discount rate for students.
3. 〜と
[意味] ある行動が起こると、必ず別のことが続いて起こることを意味します
When one action happens, another thing always follows afterward.
[接続] V（辞書形 / ナイ形）+ と イAい + と ナAだ + と Nだ + と
* このボタンを押すと、ドアが開きます。
　Press this button to open the door.
* 春になると桜が咲きます。
　 In spring, cherry blossoms bloom.
* もう 行かないと、遅刻するよ。早く行って！
　 If you don't go now, you'll be late. Go quickly!
* 成績が悪いと、卒業できませんよ。
If you don't get good grades, you won't be able to graduate.
* 部屋がきれいだと、気持ちがいいよね。
It feels good to have a clean room.
* ここの入場料は学生だと、割引になります。
　 Students get a discount on the admission fee here.
4. 〜ところだ
[意味]
① Indicates the state immediately before the start of an action.
② Indicates that a certain action is in the process of being performed.
③ Indicates immediately after a certain action has been completed.
[接続]
① V（辞書形）+ところだ。
② V（て形）いる + ところだ。
③ V（た形）+ ところだ。
* これからご飯をたべるところです。
　 I am about to eat a meal.
* 今、ご飯を食べているところです。
　 I am having a meal now.
* 今、ご飯を食べたところです。
　 I have just eaten my meal.
5. 〜という (=〜っていう (casual))
[意味] …called / …named
* 私はトミーという犬を飼っています。
　 I have a dog named Tommy.
* 一期一会という言葉を知っていますか？
Do you know the word “Ichigo-Ichie”?
* さっき、すずきさんという人から電話がありましたよ。
I just got a call from someone named Mr. Suzuki.
